Don't Call Me Ted!

Teddy Lupin sat at the middle of the dinner table with his God siblings and cousins, his feet barely scraping the ground as he moved his feet back and forth eagerly awaiting to be served. It was New Years Eve and everyone has gathered at the Burrow for dinner. James sat to his left, and Teddy tutted as he saw that the boy was salivating over his plate. "James, cut it out!"

Teddy pushed the small boy away and happily took the plate that was handed to him and placed it in front of the small red haired girl on his right, James' sister Lily Luna. "Tank you, Tweddy." She said, smiling sweetly at him. He winked and happily turned to receive his own plate of food, laden with roast chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, peas and a biscuit.

Everything was going perfectly well that evening. The children, hungry from a long day of quidditch, were much too tired and hungry to pull any pranks on the unsuspecting, so the house was relatively quiet. That was until Hugo asked Teddy to pass him the gravy.

The red haired boy sat two seats away from Teddy, his tiny fist gripping tightly to the fork in his right hand. "Ted, pass me the gravy?"

Everything stopped when the clatter of silverware hitting china was heard. Everyone's eyes turned to Teddy and were shocked to see that his normally long turquoise hair had turned a dangerous red, and his eyes were glaring angrily at Hugo. "Don't call me Ted!" He snapped, "it's Teddy!"

Laughter burst out from the adults at the table and Teddy turned to look at them confused, anger vanishing from his features and his hair returning to its natural state. "What's so funny?" Teddy asked incredulously.

He never did find out what was so funny.
