A/N: I've always wanted to write a scene between Dinah and Mia because they have such a good relationship in the comics (or did. I don't know if they still do. I'm very behind.) So, here's a drabble about the two of them. Enjoy.

Not Quite Enough

By angellwings

Mia sighed as Oliver ditched her for Chloe yet again. Mia liked Chloe. She respected her, even, but the woman was getting in the way of her training. How was Mia ever going to get any archery practice if every time they scheduled it a date with Chloe got in the way? She was already here waiting to train with him, and he was backing out.

"Don't leave. I'm sending someone else," he said before she hung up on him.

"I don't want to train with someone else," Mia muttered to herself as she threw her phone back in her duffle bag.

"Then I guess we're even," A voice said. "Cause I'm not really in the mood to train you."

Mia turned to see a rather tall brunette smirking at her. "Who are you?"

"You can call me Dinah. I'm a friend of Oliver's."

"A friend of Oliver's or Green Arrow's?" Mia asked.

Dinah chuckled. "A little bit of both."

"Both, huh? So you knew him before he got all caught up in Chloe-land? Was he always this flakey?" Mia asked in annoyance.

Dinah smirked at her. "No, but that's what love will do to a person."

"He's not gonna end up with Chloe," Mia said with a roll of her eyes. "I mean she's great and all, but she's…not quite enough for him."

Dinah quirked a brow at the young girl. "Not quite enough? What do you mean?"

"He needs someone who's a bit more of a handful."

"More of a handful than Chloe? She's a pretty big handful."

"She's a handful, but she's a different kind of handful."

"I'm not sure I understand what you mean," Dinah said in confusion.

"Chloe wants to handle too many things on her own. That's why she's a handful. It's great that she wants to be independent and that she's brilliant enough to achieve that, but sometimes you need help. Oliver needs someone who needs his help and knows when to ask for it. Chloe's not that person. She's almost what Oliver needs, but she's not quite enough," Mia said with a sigh. "Oliver's going to end up getting hurt."

Dinah patted the girl's shoulder and smiled softly. "Probably, but there's not much we can do about it. It's his life, and Chloe is what he wants right now. For what it's worth, she's been good for him in a lot of ways."

"I guess," Mia said glumly.

"Look, why don't we train? It might take your mind off of it. Besides, I want to know if what Ollie said is true," Dinah grinned.

"What did he say?"

"That with a little training you could be as good as me," Dinah smirked.

Mia quirked an eyebrow at her. "I could take you."

"You think? Well, why don't we find out?" Dinah said as she took a stance and motioned for Mia to make the first move. "Let's go, little girl."
