This is a drabble that I came up with last night as a result of Smackdown! I don't own WWE or any characters associated with it.

He sat there waiting for his best friend. When Edge finally came into the hall, he felt ashamed and elated for all that he had done. Edge was someone he looked up to, winning all those championships. He looked his best friend in the eye.

"Edge, look…"

"Christian, do you want to tell me what's been going on?"

"What do you mean?" He asked incredulously.

"What happened? You used to be fun and willing to help." Edge looked at the man before him, it was not his best friend. Much like he hadn't looked like Christian's best friend in 2009.

"You want to know what happened?" He cried.

"Yeah, when did you turn into a raving, uncaring, thoughtless asshole?"

"You want to know why I'm like this and I am this asshole you see?"

"Yes! What happened?" Edge screamed.

"Randy Orton."

"One guy, that's it?"

"Yes! I was fun and willing to help before Randy Orton yanked that championship out from underneath me. Not once, but three times. I want it back."

"And you are going to repeat the same mistakes I made." Edge sighed, running a hand through his hair, knowing that Christian was going to get hurt.

"Christian doesn't make mistakes."

"Christian, why can't you see that you are going down a path that will gain you infamy, not glory?" Edge said. "You have to do the right thing. You will be remembered—"

"As the guy who teamed with you." Christian finished. "I am not going to sit on the sidelines while my best friend has all the glory. We got into this business together."

"Christian, I…"

"I don't need your protection anymore, Edge. I am a four-time World Heavyweight Champion." Christian cut him off again. "You'll see I'm right when I become champion one more time." He stormed off.

Edge looked after him and shook his head. When would he learn? Then he saw John Cena who had been listening to the conversation.

"John." He greeted.

"Edge, look I know you don't want him to get hurt, but he has to learn some things on his own."

"I know, I just wish that he didn't make MY mistakes." Edge looked at John. "I want you to know that I think you deserve an apology for all the horrible things I did to you.

"Edge, this is the business. No need to apologize. Good luck with your acceptance speech on Saturday, man. I'll be watching from the front row!" He hugged Edge.

"I'm glad you understand. I just wish that Christian did too."

"He'll learn. Though I must admit, he did get pretty ruthless."

"I've been watching with my girlfriend." Edge said. "He just lost it after reffing that match between Randy and Sheamus."

"I know, I couldn't believe it." John answered.

"Well, good luck with your match tonight champ!" Edge said, walking away, unaware that Christian was watching him and John. "Christian, I'll be waiting for you in Toronto, buddy."
