"Hold still!"

"No! That stuff stings!"

"Soul, if you do not stop moving, I will jam this in your eye." Maka warned, her green eyes flashing.

He rolled his eyes at her threat but allowed her to jab the cotton ball on his cheek, wincing slightly as the cut on his cheek began to sting again.

They had gotten back from a mission about a half hour before. It had been successful; they had eliminated two Kishin eggs from the world. However, it hadn't been easy; the two of them were covered in bruises and cuts.

"This is so not cool." Soul grumbled as Maka dipped a new cotton ball in the antibacterial liquid. "Cool guys like me don't need this kind of stuff."

"Cool guys don't need infections that could have easily been prevented if they had gotten off their high horse and cleaned up a cut." Maka retorted. "Now, hold still."

"I'm not going any- ow!"

"I said, hold still!" Maka shouted as Soul jerked backwards again, nearly falling off the chair. "I can't clean it if you keep flailing around like that!"

"Well, it hurts!" Soul shouted back as Maka placed the slightly bloodied cotton ball on the table and taking another out of the bag. "Don't press so hard!"

"I'm not! Maybe if you would stop moving so much, it wouldn't hurt as bad!" Maka snapped, proceeding to mash the next cotton ball onto his face.

Soul yelled again. "Just me me do it!" he snapped back, yanking another cotton ball out of the bag. He reached for the antibacterial liquid, but Maka beat him to it. Holding it out of his reach, Maka jumped out of her seat and stepped backwards as Soul made another lunge towards the bottle.

"Seriously?" Soul gritted his teeth, getting of his chair. "Just give me the damn bottle."

"No." Maka replied. Her face was stern, but after a few moments, a small smile appeared as she watched her flustered weapon scowl at her.

He lunged again and Maka was able to easily sidestep him, holding the bottle high over her head. He growled as he turned around, only to be met with a smirk.

Despite her irritation, he couldn't help but grin at her. It was hard not to, her smile could light up a room if she tried. It one of the many things he liked about Maka; her sweet little smile.

"Alright fine." he said, flopping back down into his seat.

Maka gave him a confused look; it wasn't like him to give up this easily and he knew it. But he was tired and he really didn't feel like starting up a fight over antibacterial liquid. Nevertheless, she sat down in the chair opposite of him and started readying another cotton ball.

Despite his efforts not to, he still winced when it came into contact with his face. But somehow, the pain didn't seem so bad anymore.
