Fourteen Days
"Fourteen days… almost there and I'm going strong."
Dr. Izzie Stevens looked up from the chart she was working on to see Sloan approaching with a jovial grin on his face.
"Fourteen days…. Until you leave Seattle Grace? I hope that's it," she mumbled
Sloan flashed her the patented McSteamy smirk as he leaned against the counter next to her. "Fourteen days until I will have a reason to stay, Dr. Stevens. You can cancel the going away party and cheer yourself up." At Izzie's snort he added, "Not even you pesky interns will get me down today… it is a day of triumph!"
A passing Addison heard his comment and stopped in front of him.
"What's so special about today, Mark?"
He shot her a knowing look. "As if you don't know Addi".
She looked down at her watch and back up at him questioningly. "Did I miss a memo or something? You do remember your birthday is in November and not this month, right?"
He laughed and reached out to softly brush a lock of her red hair away from her face. "Fourteen days Addison. I'm half way there and you've got the last fourteen days to run and hide."
Addison's green eyes flashed in fascination. "Are you the Big Bad Wolf?"
Sloan laughed. "I could be…"
Both Addison and Izzie smiled, acknowledging the truth in that statement, until he murmured "How hard do you want to be bitten?"
The women stared at him in shock. "Okay, I think this is too much.. whatever… for me," Izzie muttered as she gathered her pile of charts in her arms.
"Three's a crowd anyway," Sloan said as she walked away.
Addison looked at him curiously. "Are you sure you're the same Mark I've always known? I've never heard him say that."
Sloan smiled and pulled her close. "It's still me, Addi. Just not the hopeless womanizer I've always shown myself to be, but the committed guy that loving you has made me. You'd better book our plane tickets, babe, because in fourteen days we're going to Vegas.
Addison smiled at him gently over her glasses. "Mark, our month of dating isn't up yet, you know. I know what a naughty boy you can be."
Sloan chuckled and eyed her with sensual promise. "Oh I know you'll never forget that, Addison. You'll never have the chance. Because, in fourteen days, I'll be showing you how fun it is to be the naughty Mrs. McSteamy".
He winked at her as he moved away from the counter and started to saunter down the hall. "Maybe you should take the next two weeks to conserve your energy. You're going to need it".
