Jaded.

The truth of the matter was this: She was Jaded. In every sense of the word. They both knew she would never be the same.

Disclaimer : No, I do not own Avatar the Last Airbender...I do however own my nifty sunglasses case!

Sokka came stumbling into Ty Lee's tent well after midnight, drunk as all get out and wanting only one thing.

Ty Lee knew this. She didn't know what was worse, the fact that she knew or the fact that she used to be ignorant to the matter.

It never failed.

When Sokka broke up with his new flavor of the week, he would come stumbling back into Ty Lee's life and upsetting the balance of her world. Sometimes she wouldn't see him for 2-3 months at a time, other times it was only 2 weeks. And each and every time she welcomed him back with open arms, happy to have him for at least the little while that she held him.

For those few precious hours, Sokka belonged to her. And only her. Not the next floosy he would pick up in the next bar, but Ty Lee.

But with the sweet also came the sour. Each and everytime Sokka did this, Ty Lee promised herself that it would be the last time she would be used like this.

But as Sokka drukenly crashed his lips down on to hers, giving her a taste of his favorite rum, she found herself questioning her willpower.

The truth of the matter was this: She was jaded. In every sense of the word. She could feel it deep in her bones. Haunting her at the darkest times of night.

Sokka grunted as Ty Lee roughly pushed him off of her.

Dazed blue eyes looked at her with a question.

Grey eyes stared solomnly back at him with the answer.

Ty Lee smiled sadly at Sokka as she quickly dashed the tears out of her eyes.

By the light of her paper laterns understanding came to Sokka as he gazed back at the broken girl.

Jaded. They both knew she would never be the same.
