Lucius Malfoy in Azkaban
Lucius hated his gray, drab cell in Azkaban; but even more, he hated Harry Potter and his little disgusting friends. How could these snotty brats have managed to escape him and eleven of the best Death Eaters, how did these brats have the courage to oppose them?
Worse, he had disappointed his lord, Lord Voldemort, and hadn't give him the desired prophecy. Lucius as well Mulciber, Avery Crabbe, Rabastan Lestrange,Rookwood, Dolohow, Macnair, Rodolphus Lestrange, Nott and Jugson had been captured by members of the Order of the Phoenix. And now he had to sit in this hole in Azkaban for the next few years! And that was only thanks to Harry Potter and his gang!
He felt lucky that he had a single cell and didn't have to listen to the whining of others all day long. He liked to imagine what he would be doing to the Mudblood Granger, the blood-traitors Lovegood, Longbottom, the Weasleys, and the half-blood Potter if they would fall in his hands. He enjoyed imagining the worst possible punishments for Potter and the rest of his little friends. It helped him to feel slightly better about his situation.
But luckily, he received a letter – unfortunately they weren't all the letters he enjoyed receiving: his sister in law Bellatrix wrote him at least every third day, about how sour and disappointed the Dark Lord was. This crazy woman should be very grateful, if her master hadn't intervened, she would be sitting here too. He supposed it was also a positive for him as well. He didn't want to have to put up with Bellatrix in the cell next to him. That would be a disaster.
He moved Bellatrix's letter aside, and he was pleased to find some letters from Narcissa and Draco, which were sent to him daily. The two kept him informed of the latest news and encouraged him and they would do anything that would be necessary to get him out of there the quickest way and to soften the Dark Lord.
Draco repeatedly wrote to him that the Dark Lord had shown him a way how he can make amends and restore the honor of the Malfoy family. Draco didn't reveal that, and Narcissa didn't know anything about it, so she seemed to be worried about Draco.
But he also got anonymous mail: Someone sent him cartoons that showed him in Azkaban. Lucius thought it was funny, well done and was always happy when the post owls brought new drawings. He hadn't yet figured out who the sender was. There were always only the initials H.G., H.P., and R.W. Lucius had gone through all his friends and acquaintances with their children, but hadn't come one step closer to the solution.
Before he could think any further about what Draco might do or who the sender was from the cartoon, his cell door opened and one of the guards shouted, "You got a package, Malfoy." Lucius stepped forward and took it from him. The door closed and he sat down on his bunk. Curious, he opened the package and found a chocolate cake which he immediately began to eat. That was the most delicious mail he had ever eaten.
Suddenly he came across something hard, a muggle file, along with a note saying, "Good luck with the breakout" again signed with H.P., H.G. and R.W. Lucius chuckled and immediately began to write a letter to Narcissa and Draco.
He told of the funny little pictures he got and concluded with the words: "Whenever I get these drawings, I feel better. Unfortunately, I don't know who to thank. In love, Lucius/Dad."
He handed the letter over to a guard and then lay down satisfied on his cot.
Three hours later, the guard brought him Draco's reply, a very short one:
"H.P, H.G. and R.W. stand for Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Best regards, Draco."
