Christopher'

My name is Christopher John Frances Boone and I know all the countries of the world and their capitals and the prime numbers to 7,057. I'm 15 years old and live with my father in Townsend, Vermont. Our next-door neighbor is Mrs. Shears whose husband left her 2 years ago. She has a dog named Wellington whom she says she likes a lot.

I attend Townsend Regional High School and take all the advanced math and science classes I can because I want to be an astronaut and work for NASA. In my AP physics class, there was a student who is very similar to me. He talks about forensic analysis just as much as I talk about my areas of special interest. I've learned much about forensic analysis from him. Little did I know how useful knowing a forensic expert would be in the coming days.

Late Thursday night, I woke up to a terrible sound in the back yard. I crept downstairs to investigate. When I got outside, I saw Wellington lying in Mrs. Shears' garden with a fork stuck in him. It looked like someone had done this on purpose, and I wanted to find out who killed Wellington.

I decided to call Jacob the next morning to ask for his help, which is difficult for me. I'm very independent so asking for help is not something I do often. I wanted to find out who killed Wellington and needed Jacob's forensics knowledge.
