Hello! It's Disneyboy101, here with my first story of the Lion Guard. Now before you read this, I want to make a quick disclaimer!
I DON'T own the Lion Guard/Lion King characters, settings, music, or anything like that, they belong to their respected creators, but some of the OCs in this story are mine.
By the way, this is my first attempt to do a story, so forgive me if I have horrible grammar. Also, rated T for violence, crude humor and language.
Anyways, enjoy the story!
Prologue
The Savannah Africa
The hot sun shines against my face as I put my hand over my eyes to shade them, I looked ahead towards the plateau and the mountains. It's so beautiful, I felt like home. "Hey, son! Come give me a hand with the tent, please!" my father shouted, I went back to help my father. OH, I haven't introduce myself have I? My name is Nichael Greggory Chimmer, I'm eleven years old and I'm from L.A., California. I have tan skin, short, blonde hair, brown eyes and I'm 5'6 tall. I'm wearing a white t-shirt, a yellow jacket, light brown pants and black shoes.
I'm going to be twelve tomorrow and I wanted to celebrate it in Africa with my dad. I walked to my unfinished tent with my dad, nailing down two pegs, holding the poles. "Alright," he says, "we've got to nail two more pegs and our tent is almost finished." I looked over to the tent kit, grabbed the two pegs and handed them to dad.
"I gotta tell you, Nicky, this is the best idea we've ever done," he said, working on one of the pegs, "I just wish that your mother were see it." "I bet she is right now." I said cheerily, looking to the sky, my mom died from cancer, seven months ago, I didn't wanted her to go, but she's free from the disease she carried on her shoulders for so long. "Welp," he said, "let's not sit here and sulk all day and get back on working on pitching the tent, eh?"
I handed him a hammer, then he hammered the peg down. I got distracted when I saw a little African gerbil, being cornered in a hole by African fox. "Hey!" I called out to the fox, "Leave the little guy alone!" I picked up a rock and fling it at the fox, direct hit, the rock hit it right on the nose. It whimpered and scampered away. I went to check on the rodent, it seems to be fine, but looks scared, so I try to comfort the gerbil. "It's ok," I cooed, "He's gone now, you can come out." I suddenly saw another gerbil and two smaller ones, he wasn't just being attacked, he's protecting his family. The rodent went to sniff my hand, he chittered in thanks for helping him and went back into the hole.
"Hey!" my dad shouted, "A little help please?!" I went back to help my father and I told what I did. "I saw," he said, "That was very kind and generous of you to do." "I think we should build a animal protection station." I said, that causes my dad to chuckle, "What? I'm being serious." "I know son," he chuckled, "But I got to earn money to do kind of stuff like that." My dad had to work in a Christian church to money every week, but sometimes, the priest can be rude, other times, he and my dad can be quite good friends. "Son," he said, "The way you helped the gerbil, you've secured his and his family's future. God created us to protect those whom can't protect themselves, that includes us." Dad's a very good teacher, he used to work at a school I used to go to, but now I'm home school because, well, let's just say that some of the systems is a little rough.
I looked at him and smiled, but then I heard a vehicle pull over, a silver truck with horns. The doors open, on the left is a man with a silver jacket, white t-shirt, jeans, black boots, a black cowboy's hat and sunglasses; the man on the right is wearing the same thing as the man on the left, but he's has darker skin tone and he's seems to be carrying a M4A1 gun; a guy jumped off from the back, wearing the same thing and he's carrying the same gun as the man on from the right. "Hello, Stevie," said the man with a new Yorker's accent, "Sorry to interrupt your vacay fun-" "Oh, hell no, Henry," shouts my father, "I told you to stay away from my family!" "Whoa, whoa, calm yourself, my good man," said Henry, "I just came here for the maps." "Oh, for god sakes, Henry," He said, getting a bit cross, oh no, The moment my dad goes from being cheery to absolutely furious, "You're not getting your greedy hands on those maps and before you say it, I'm done covering things up for you, I'm done doing you favors and I'm done poaching animals! I'm not gonna help you kill animals, so you can get that Lion's Jewel!" "That's a shame," the man said, he then turned to his guys, "Search for the maps." "WHAT?!" Dad shouts, he sounds like he's really gonna do them now, so he punches Henry in the back of the head, in retaliation, the man punched my dad in the jaw.
Suddenly, all hell broke loose, one of the men heard the struggle, he took aim, making his mark, meanwhile, I was finding a place to hide to avoid being caught. I hid in the tent as soon as one of the men leaves, so I went in and I saw the ruckus the man caused, he went through our bags, suitcases, coolers, everything. "It's not here sir." I heard one of the men from outside, I peeked my head out so that they don't see me. I see my the men on either of my father with Henry standing in front of him.
"Let's try this again," He said, threateningly, "Tell me, where is the maps to the Lion's Jewel?" No answer from my dad, that made the man punch him in the gut, causing my dad to go down on his knees. Then Henry grabs him by the collar of his shirt and said, "I looked up to you, Steve, I looked up to you like a father I never had, but now all you do is just cast me aside, ever since that brat was born, you told me to promise you that I'll do what ever it takes to keep him safe, I've done everything that I promised you! But no, you saw what I've done, poaching, killing, abused..." He then punched his face and then continued, "You just left me on the shelf, collecting dust, never to be used again, what you use to call me a greatest son you've ever had, so then tell me, old man, is your son the greatest!?" My dad slowly got back to his feet and looked at Henry, not saying a word, but then he began to explain, "You're right," he said as he spit the blood out from his lips, "I did left you on the shelf, because when I look you, I saw something you never really got, a heart of kindness, a heart of love and that's something that you'll never earn." Henry looked at him, then to one of the men. "Burn the camp site, no one must know where it was and to find the maps." As soon as I heard the conversation, I immediately grabbed my backpack and packed protein bars, my water bottle, my binoculars, some rope, a headlamp and unexpectedly the maps that dad and Henry were talking about, so I pack them, including a compass and a drafting divider tool. I quickly bolted out the tent, then I heard Henry shouting for me to stop, but I refused and continued to run. "Men, get that child and bring me those maps!" Henry commanded, the men ran towards my direction, then looked at my dad, "You're gonna watch as your so called 'greatest creation' dies and you're gonna like it."
Meanwhile
I've got big trouble, I've just kept running, hoping to lose the men behind me, with every turn, they keep following, "Good God," I said to myself as I'm running, "These guys don't let up, do they?!" I kept wondering how I'm gonna shake off those guys. I kept running, saying to myself, "Please, God, please help me find a place to hide, if I don't, I might go to hell! Please God, show me a sign for above!" My prayers have been answered, I found a cave, hopefully that I can hide there. "Thank God." I whispered, but is it safe there? Only one way to find out, I went in and hid in a very heavily shadowy place, but then suddenly I fell and screamed, I didn't hit the ground very hard, but it really hurt. I swear, I must've had a guardian angel on my side or something.
Meanwhile
The men were still on the hunt for me. "We'll never find him in there." one of the men said, "Let's head back, he might be dead anyways." They nod to each other and went back. One of the men thought he heard a cackle, he turned to his comrade and said, "Hey Claude? You heard that?" Claude turned his to his darker toned partner, asking him what noise he heard. "I thought heard someone laughing," he explained, "It scared the crap out of me, you sure it wasn't you?" "Mate, if it was me, I would be laughing like a normal person, not laughing like some kind of bloody wanker." His partner said with an australian accent, "Let's just go, you're just probably imagining things again." Then he'd reminded something and Claude said, "Did you forget to take your prescription pills again, Remy?" "Wha- HELL NO!" He exclaimed, "I just took my pills before we're about to burn the site down and if I did, I would go run around the freaking African climate and go whack some animals! RELAX!" "I think it's about time you took your chill pills mate." Claude joked. "Oh, shut up and let's go," Remy said, "Asshole."
Back at the camp site
Dad has his arms and ankles tied to a chair with Henry waiting for the men to come back with me. "You seriously think you tying me up and trying to threaten my son's life is make you get what you want?" my dad asks, "I know you're a poacher, but I didn't know you're a coward." "Oh, shut up, my guys will have the maps any minute now." Suddenly, they both see the Claude and Remy, Henry walked towards them. "Well, where's the boy?" he asks, they replied that they've lost me in a cave, "And the maps? Where. Are. The maps?" "We don't know sir, we couldn't find the maps that the child might've obtain." Remy reported to his boss, Henry looks at my father with his left eye twitching, frustrated. He kicks down a table, he then turns to my dad again, grabbing him by his collar. "Your son, he has the maps, where is he going with them?!" He asked furiously, no answer from my father, he just grinned at him. "YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY?!" Henry asked, angrily. "Well, considering the situation that you're currently in," he replied to the poacher, "I would venture to say yes." That really winds him up, fists clenching, teeth grinding with his face, redder than an apple. "Boys," he says to his men, "Cover your ears." Claude and Remy cover their ears from their boss' outburst. "YOU LITTLE ASSWIPE, I HAVEN'T GOTTEN ALL DAY, I WANT ANSWERS AND I WANT THEM, NOW!" He shouts at my father, NOW I'M GONNA ASK YOU THIS ONE! WHERE IS HE GOING WITH THEM?!" "I thought you've only had to ask me one?" my father joked. "OH, YOU ASSHOLE-" his men hold him back, the poacher then the same question, again, no answer from him. "Boys, burn this site down!" he commanded, the men grabbed the gasoline and poured on the ground, the tent, tables, chairs all of the hard work we've done. "You'll never find them," Dad said, "He might be looking for the Lion's Jewel right now." Henry lights a match and looks at him, "Oh, he won't get far and when we find the Jewel, the money and the power, WILL BE MINE!" Henry threw the match to the ground and the flames have burst and quickly cause the camp site to go into flames. "Let's go, pack it up, bring the old man with and head back to base, move!" Henry commanded, as the men grabbed their gear, carried my strapped down father on the back of the truck and took off.
Back in the cave
I regained my consciousness, trying to remember what happen, then I took a look at my surrounding. "Well," I said, sarcastically, "This'll be the last time I take caves as a hiding spot." Looking up, I can see some light from the sun, then I quickly grabbed my headlamp, put it on my head and turned it on. I looked in my bag and grabbed out the maps Henry was mentioning, I put the maps back in my backpack and tried to look for a way out and there's a rock slab at the top of the wall. I grabbed the rope, make it a lasso, and gave it a good toss toward a rock above me, so now I'm climbing up the wall and as I got to the top, I looked outside as saw the same silver truck pass the cave, I ran and saw my dad on the back of the truck with Henry. As the truck gets farther and farther away, a million thoughts ran through my mind, but then something came into mind: the campsite! I head back to camp but all I found is ashes and burnt remains, now I'm angry, I am angry. I took a look in my backpack, pulled out the maps and took a look at it, it had drawings of a rock formation of some sorts, trees that look-a-like, a watering hole, a canyon and what appears to be a temple, but everything was in some ancient swahilian language. "I'm going to probably need help who can translate these inscriptions." I said to myself, I looked at the sun and walked towards it where it would set, "Hang on tight, Dad, I'll go find help, I promise." Little did I know, my rescue mission would become an incredible adventure.
