Admiration
" Admiration is the furthest thing from comprehension"
-Aizen Sosuke
Haruno Sakura had always admired Uchiha Sasuke since she was a little girl. Unfortunately for her, the Uchiha ice prince wasn't interested in her.
Her admiration for the Uchiha deepened and turned into a crush as the years went on, but he still ignored and treated her as if she didn't exist. She got so desperate that she formed a fanclub known as the Uchiha Sasuke Fan Club.
In this venture, she was aided by her best friend and rival Yamanaka Ino. This venture continued through their years at the academy, in which every girl that was part of the fanclub vainly tried to get the attention of Uchiha Sasuke
Things changed when she turned 12, with the arrival of Uzumaki Naruto and Hatake Kakashi and the advent of Team 7. She considered the former a loud obnoxious idiot who could never match up to her Sasuke-kun, and the latter she considered a lazy perverted idiot.
Over time, her views of them changed. After the mission in Nami no Kuni, she considered their sensei an adequate teacher. She still thought of Naruto as an idiot but found out that he had an ironclad will which kept him going through any adversity. Her bond with her team strengthened through the fact that they got to know each other better.
The Chuunin Exams became a major turning point for Team 7, with the advent of Sabaku no Gaara and Orochimaru. It became a major trial for Sakura as she had to contend with a possessed Sasuke. During the Sand-Sound Invasion, she quickly dismissed all notions of Naruto and was forced to admit that he was catching up to her Sasuke-kun.
As time went on, she felt Sasuke growing more distant. This was compounded by Naruto's defeat of Sabaku no Gaara and the savage beating he earned at the hands of his brother, Uchiha Itachi. Her crush's spiral into madness continued when he challenged Naruto to a fight on the hotel roof. She tried to stop them from hurting each other and would have gotten severely hurt or killed had their sensei not stepped in and tossed them away.
The final straw came when Uchiha Sasuke defected from Konoha. She begged, pleaded and tried everything to stop her crush from leaving, but he merely incapacitated her and placed her on a bench. After the betrayal, she finally saw him for what he truly was, a power crazed maniac who was willing to do anything to avenge his family. She also was finally rid of her false admiration for a person that never existed.
