A/N: Remember in DH, when Harry sees Ginny tending to a little girl at the Battle? Yeah, this is Ginny's POV of what happened.

There are many reasons for lying: getting you and your friends out of trouble, getting your enemies into trouble, or trying to make a person feel better about themselves. You'd think the worst lie I've ever told would be in the second category. It wasn't. I was actually trying to reassure someone.

It was at the Battle of Hogwarts. A girl was lying, badly injured, on the floor. She must have been one of the kids who ignored the age restrictions and stayed to fight, as she looked no older than fourteen.

If she had the strength, she would have been screaming in agony, but all she could do was whisper for her mother.

"It's all right," I told her gently. "It's okay. We're going to get you inside."

I knew in my heart it was a lie, but I couldn't tell her the truth. How could I tell that young face that she wasn't going to make it?

She told me she wanted to go home, that she wasn't going to fight anymore. I knew she was still fighting, fighting death. But I couldn't tell her that, because she was losing.

Again, I told her it would be all right. It was the worst lie I've ever told. She died in my arms moments later, still whispering for her mother.
