A Different Christmas

Disclaimer: I do not own Snape or Granger.

Several days before Christmas Snape had been thinking about past Christmases in his life. The horrors, pain, sorrow, and disappointments that he suffered through each Christmas Day. He never wants to have to go through that again. No one should have to go through what he went through.

Now this Christmas was going to be very different, he hoped. For he had fallen in love with Hermione Granger. He knew that she loved him too, because she had told him so.

Their love grew slowly. First it started out as mutual respect. Then they became friends. It happened as they were working together.

Snape has his own potion making business, and Hermione is his partner. They argued a lot about different potions, but it was done in good humor. One day they got into a real disagreement. Hermione was doing the most arguing. Snape had enough of this so he kissed Hermione to stop her from yelling. When he stopped he realized that he loved her.

He was scared to tell Hermione that he loved her. Hermione beat him to the punch for she told him that she loved him. Snape told her how he felt about her. This time it was Hermione that started the kissing again.

He was going to ask her to marry him on Christmas Day. Would she accept his proposal of marriage or would she turn him down. He could not handle it if she turned him down. Snape went and planned what he was going to do.

Snape took Hermione out for a Christmas lunch. After they had finished eating, they went for a walk. It was during this walk that he popped the question.

Hermione was not expecting for Snape to ask her to marry him. When he did, she said yes. Snape went and took a box out of his pocket. He then gave it to Hermione. She opened the box and saw the ring.

She was so happy when she saw the ring. Then Snape took the ring out of the box and put it on her finger.

He was so happy, that he started kissing her with all the love that he felt for her. She responded back with even more fervency.

This Christmas was the best one for Snape. He had someone that loved him very much. Because of this, he had a better future to look forward too now. He would now not be alone anymore.
