Disclaimer: I do not own Teen Titans.

A/N: This little ficlet was inspired by Linkin Park's rockin' new single, "What I've Done." Remember, their album, Minutes to Midnight, come out on April 15th! I won't be here…-tear-

And, since I don't know when Terra's birthday is, I guess you could see this is an early Happy Earth Day? Lol. Please enjoy.

Too Late

Terra sat on a large, rocky outcrop facing Titans Tower. The city lights glittered and glowed in the distance, but for Terra they held nothing. Such a site was worthless. Hadn't she told Beast Boy long ago that to truly appreciate a place, you had to leave it? Terra wondered if that were true. She supposed it might be…that is, unless you wanted to leave.

Like she did. Terra wanted to leave this cursed city, with all its memories, both painful and wonderful. Memories…her memories. Because she did remember. She remembered everything. Coming into this city, meeting the Titans, meeting Beast Boy…meeting Slade…

Terra hugged her knees to her chest. 'Don't think about that.' How often had she whispered those words to herself? Over and over. Don't think. Don't think about them, and most importantly, never think about him. Because she had hurt him. Beast Boy. He had been her best friend, and he might have been something more, and she had hurt him.

Tears began to stream down her face. She remembered how he used to come to her memorial, and talk to her. As if nothing had changed. She could hear him inside that rock; could hear him, but could neither move nor respond. Not that she wanted to. Because he had forgiven her. He had forgiven her completely, but she hadn't forgiven herself. She never could.

Then, the effects wore off, and the rock she had been encased in so long, crumbled around her. She was alive again. But she didn't want to be. She didn't deserve to be alive. She didn't deserve to regain the life she had lost, with them…So, she decided she would begin anew, start over. But she had been careless, and he had found her. And he was exactly the same. So loving, appealing, eager, and free…the moment she had seen him, she had wanted to run and hug him.

But she couldn't. She never could. She had to play dumb. Because she had hurt him. And there was no guarantee that she wouldn't do it again. Because she couldn't control herself. Her actions held no reasoning. She didn't know the difference between right and wrong, didn't know what was worth fighting for, didn't know what to do…and she never would. Which meant she could never go back.

Terra wiped the tears from her eyes, her mind made. Trembling, she raised a glowing hand, and slowly lifted a large, jagged rock.

They found her body a week later.
