A/N: Here is a poem I wrote - quite odd, since I have a reputation for being horrible at poetry. Anywho, Vic Taylor (my now-beta and a helluva brilliant author; go read her stuff now instead of reading this) looked over it and approved, so I feel a bit more confident in posting it here than I would otherwise. ^.~
I hope you like this!
(Postscriptum - There is a reason for having next to zero punctuation, other than the fact that Vic told me not to put any [lol]. This is supposed to be a battle between Night and Dawn, hence everything is supposed to be happening all at once - very chaotic. The lack of punctuation - and therefore order - enhances that. The only bit of punctuation is at the end, and that strengthens the fact that the battle is over. And, yes, there is some punctuation in the middle, but that is because it really couldn't go without it.)
Night, with all his shadows
Armored in a veil of silence
Black velvet Darkness
And intrigue
Prepares to battle approaching Dawn
Dawn arrives, clothed in majesty
Crimson
Violet
Orange
Gold
The sunrise is at his command
The battle commences
The sun rises; the shadows swarm
Colors, radiant, gleam in the sky
Though shadows swirl about them
The orange sun rises amidst Night
Crimson and Violet surrounding
Night fights back
With ominous, blanketing
Storming Darkness
Is suddenly blinded
Orange
Gold
Splendor defined
Marching forth, bringing sunrise
The shadows fall away
The battle is won
Night yields to Dawn.
