With only the strength to say one last thing, he gripped onto the boy's shirt, making the last request he could ask of Harry.

"Look…at...me…" Staring deeply into the eyes that once belonged to his one love he drifted off into the fading darkness…

But in the dark he began to feel pleasant warmth surrounding him. He couldn't feel a body but he felt as though he had never had one to begin with and began to slowly drift along wherever he was. Time didn't seem to exist here so he didn't know how long her drifted. But he could not feel any pain or sadness. He was just blank of all the horrible things he had once experienced. And now the darkness was beginning to vanish as he heard voice calling to him to a brightening light.

"Severus…Severus…" When the once black surroundings were completely gone he saw a flicker of red in all the white. He began to float closer to it till a body began to attach to the red.

"Li…Lily…?" It couldn't be he thought but as he was finally close enough to see the body, he knew it was. She was smiling that warm, gentle he loved right at him.

"Severus…I am so happy that you have taken care of Harry for so long…" She said drifting closer to him in some dress that blended in with the white backround everywhere.

"Lily…I did it for you…I'm sorry I didn't stop you from being killed that night… I was so foolish…and your son…he is just like James in practically every way…" He could feel on his non-existent face he was frowning slightly. "…except for his eyes…they are exactly like yours…" She smiled up at him again. "But why are you here?…You're…" He couldn't think clearly in this place.

"…Severus…I cared about you even after the day you called me that…name… And for doing what you did to keep Harry, my only child, alive in your own ways…I thank you so much for all that you have done…that's why I'm here…" She held out her perfect hand out to him and he just stared at it confused. She giggled. Oh how he had missed her laugh over those long years.

"You can have a body, you just have to picture it in your head and you'll have one…"

He tried remembering his body in his mind and when he felt that he was there, he lifted up his hand to his neck to touch it. There were no bite marks from the snake. It was as if nothing had ever happened to it. He then looked back down to Lily's hand and slowly reached out to it. His fingers brushed against her palm. It was so warm. She then wrapped her fingers around his hand and slowly pulled him along into the white surroundings. His mind was blank now. It was no longer filled with twisting thoughts and painful memories. He could even feel a small smile on his lips as he asked just one more question.

"Lily…where are we going…?" She gently tightened her small hand around his as they neared another light but it was with a more golden glow. There were almost in it when she answered, looking over her shoulder into his eyes.

"…home Severus…home…"

And that was when he felt happier then he had his entire life on earth. Holding on to her hand forever seemed like the most perfect thing in the world…and he finally just let himself go on forever into the light, its peacefulness, its comfort…and the joy that carried him along…
