-1Azula looked out into the agni kai stadium at her brother who was on his knees begging for mercy. "You will learn respect… and suffering will be your teacher." Her father roared. Zuko was crying now. He looked up just as Ozai shot a stream of fire toward him… so it hit him right in the face. He is too weak. Azula thought to herself as she watched her brother roll on the ground screaming and grabbing his face. He doesn't even know what to do when he catches on fire…He's no prince… He's just a coward! Ozai threw more flames at his already engulfed son and he just laid there burning until Ozai left the stadium and someone put the flames out. Azula stared down at her brother… he wasn't moving now. Is he still Alive? He's still breathing…but he wont be for long. Azula watched as her brother's breathing became slower and slower. Iroh was already down on the stadium floor by Zuko's side. Another man kneeled down beside Zuko… a doctor… he examined Zuko then said something to Iroh. Iroh lowered his head. He's gone… my brother is gone now… forever…now I am the heir to the throne… I will be crowned fire queen when my father passes…I wont miss my brother at all…I'm happy that he's dead now. So happy.

As Azula stared at her dead brother something startled her. Something cool running down her cheeks. Tears. I'm crying. Azula realized. But I don't know why… I don't love my brother… nor am I sorry that he is dead. Perhaps these are tears of joy. Azula thought as she stood up from her seat. Most of the people had already left their seats. She was one of the only people in the stadium now. It was just her, uncle Iroh, and the corpse that used to be her brother. As she began to walk out of the stadium she couldn't help but look back at her uncle who was kneeled by Zuko as if waiting for the dead body to come back life.

Their both weaklings. She decided and proceeded to leave the stadium. But she stopped in the doorway. She stood there for a minute trying to figure out why she couldn't walk any farther. Then she turned around and saw Iroh talking to Zuko. And Zuko was laying on the ground and talking back to him. Azula quietly walked back to where she had been seated. She looked out into the stadium again. Her brother was still laying on the ground. His face was covered in blood. His eyes were tightly shut and he was struggling to talk to his uncle.

"Just bare with me Zuko." She heard her uncle say as he lifted Zuko up and began to carry him towards the stadium door.

He's alive. Azula realized and ducked behind the chair she had been sitting in. And although she wanted to follow her uncle. She knew she couldn't because he was a disgrace for helping Zuko… and if she talked to him she would be a disgrace too. She must be the strong honorable one. For her brother is a failure.

Azula left the stadium a few minutes after Iroh and her brother left. And although she would never dare to tell anyone, and her mind denied it, when she realized that her brother was alive she felt a tiny almost microscopic speck of happiness.
