Title: What lies beyond those hills
Genre: Silly
Rating: G
Word count: 171
Note: This was originally written as an original piece in response to a conversation my dad and I had one day. A friend read it and said it was like a conversation between Ishida and his grandfather.
So here it is.
"Grandfather, what lies beyond those hills?"
An eight year old Ishida Uryuu sat before his honourable elder, hands eagerly resting on his knees as he anticipated the answer, empty lunch boxes lying forgotten to one side.
"More hills."
Light shifted over the grandfather's features as the wind moved clouds across the sun, his face wrinkled as one might expect from one so old and wise.
"But what lies beyond those hills Grandfather?" Uryuu pushed his question, expecting a reasonable answer from his grandfather and sensei.
"Yet more hills."
He nodded his head slightly, confirming what he had just said.
"But what lies beyond THOSE hills?" Uryuu pushed forward again, his tone exasperated and almost sitting forward on his knees.
"More hills," the Ishida Souken smiled complacently.
"But what about those! Is there anything beyond those hills that aren't more hills?" His grandson flung himself forward in desperation.
"Well," the old man pondered, pausing as he looked into the distance and the deepest recesses of his mind, "beyond that, possibly another hill."
