Words Never Said and Eyes Never Seeing
The gun was aimed at the street below
Watching the maven make her sweet musical symphony
It waited to make a perfect show
The man was warned of the ending harmony
As she neared the end of the final note, time crawled unnaturally slow
The gunshot rang throughout the street
Everyone ran for their lives
The sound that escaped her, so beautiful, so sweet
This day would go down in archives
As the day he was late to their meet
He ran at full speed
Only it was too late
The gun had done the deed
Now he would have to live with the hate
For the warning he did not heed
As he knelt on the ground
A tear escaped as he squeezed her hand
The warmth he longed for was not found
Her touch was cold like morning sand
The melody could no longer sound.
Picking her up he looked at the sky
He squeezed her one last time
All of a sudden he started to cry
He could not believe this awful crime
That took away his beautiful butterfly
