What I think is the missing scene from "The Two Mrs Grissoms".

Very short almost-Snickers moment :)

I'm going away on holiday and really wanted to post something before I left, hence this, hope you like it, please review :)

When Lovers Become Trends

Sara's cup of tea slowly steamed away in front of her as she was lost in thought. She could feel the pain in her neck slowly becoming more prominent, the tension of the situation, the case was finally getting to her body. She didn't look up when Nick sat himself down opposite her, barely registering his presence she continued staring into the mug in front of her.

"Hey Sara." he said, his voice filled with concern, the amount he cared about his friends was something that made him even more endearing.

"Yes." Her response was short, irritable almost.

"Are you okay?" He spelt out what he was asking. Nick knew that Sara was finding this case tough, even if she didn't admit it.

"I'm fine." Another short response. He had known Sara long enough to know that was a lie.

"You're not going to get past me Sara, tell me what's wrong." His voice softened as he said the second part. Sara glanced up at him making eye contact for the first time she pursed her lips while considering whether or not to be completely honest with him.

"I just don't understand why Grissom didn't tell me about Julia." Sara explained adding "maybe he knew I'd be insecure" in her head.

"Because it doesn't matter." Sara glanced up at him with a puzzled expression. "Julia is just a part of his past...what matters is the present...you two." He attempted to explain what he was trying to say.

"Yeah." Was Sara's only response, she took a slow sip from her tea and turned her attention to the folder in front of her. There was silence between them as Sara continued reading.

She understood what Nick was saying. She always knew that he was right. But everything about today had put her relationship into question. Her mother in-law talking about how real marriages work; two people together, which they certainly weren't. Hodges's making assumptions about their sex life; which really was great even if anyone didn't believe it. The expression Julia had on her face when she told Sara about her and Grissom.

"Hey Sara." He said again to get her attention.

"Yes, Nick?" She raised an eyebrow at him as she looked up.

"You're beautiful." And sheepish smile appeared across his face.

"What?" Sara narrowed her eyes at him, the questioning expression reappeared.

"Before...You were saying how pretty Julia was, and I agreed. And she is, pretty that is...but I forgot to say...you're beautiful." Nick stumbled over his words slightly unnerved by Sara's expression. But it soon softened and she smiled at Nick.

"You don't have to lie to make me feel better." She mused giving him her signature half smile.

"I'm not lying. Sara you're beautiful, stunning, gorgeous and every other antonym there is to say it." Nick continued, Sara rolled her eyes and turned back to the file in front of her. As much as she appreciated his attempt at making her feel better it had in fact made her feel uncomfortable.

"If you don't believe me, then ask Grissom." That line caused Sara's head to snap back up to meet Nick's eyes. He wasn't smiling anymore he had a serious expression on his face.

"You are everything Julia is and more, Sara." He said softly as he stood up.

Nick gave Sara one last smile (a smile that could make butter melt, she noted) and disappeared out of the break room door leaving her alone with her thoughts again.

The End
