"Come in," Horace Slughorn said.

"Sir, it's my time for Career Advice," Tom Riddle said.

"Ah yes, Tom good to see you again, now you have taken Arthimancy, Ancient Runes, and Care of Magical Creatures, so that opens up just about everything have you given any thought as to what you might like to do?" Horace asked.

"Well sir, I thought I might like to be a Dark Lord," Tom said with a smile.

"Ah a difficult career choice," Horace looked around his desk, and after moving booklets around he found a black one, "Ok I have here So You Want To Be A Dark Lord by Henry Black. 'First and most important is the name, it does no good to be a Dark Lord if it destroys your Family Name, choose a name no one could trace back to you.' Do you have a name picked out?" Horace asked.

"Indeed, I will be the Dark Lord Voldemort," Tom said.

"Ok, 'Next you must have the laugh down, it is Muhahahahahahaha,' Can you laugh like that?" Horace asked, Tom did. "Excellent my boy, excellent. 'You must know the Dark Arts, and specifically the Unforgivables, the Imperious Curse is useful for recruiting, the Cruciatus is good for Punishment, and Avada Kedevra is good for removing the competition, of course you must also know obscure and powerful spells to impress the common foot soldiers,' How's that coming for you Tom?"

"Very well, Abraxas Malfoy has given me access to his family Library, as has Jacob Nott, and Marcus Flint, I am trying to get into the Black Family Library, and of course I have bought a few tomes and books while visiting Knockturn Alley," Tom said.

"Excellent my boy, 'A Dark Lord must have a mark, and a name for his followers,' How's that coming?" Horace asked.

"I have the Mark, and I will call them Death Eaters," Tom said.

"Excellent my boy, now this book is useful and it is clear to me that you are well on your way, I will give this book to you. Now Assistant Headmaster Dumbledore insists that we make a log of all these things so if you couldn't be a Dark Lord what might you like to do?" Horace asked.

"Does the wizarding world still use Capital Punishment?" Tom asked.

"The Americans, Eastern Europeans, Chinese, Middle East and Russians do," Horace replied.

"Excellent, I will be an executioner," Tom said.

"My boy while that would be a worthy Career Dumbledore will not be happy with that, is there anything else?" Horace asked.

"Um does any torture prisoners?" Tom asked.

"The Russians, Chinese, most Eastern European Countries, and the Middle East," Horace said.

"Then I will do that, my Cruciatus is getting quite good," Tome replied with a smile.

At this point Horace was rubbing his temples, "How about something that I can tell Dumbledore Tom, Minister of Magic?" Horace asked.

"No, Basilisk Breeder?" Tom asked.

"No, Curse Breaker?" Horace suggested.

"No, Curse Maker?" Tom asked.

"No, How about Healer?" Horace asked.

"I would rather hurt people, Dark Arts Instructor?" Tom asked

"No, Defense Instructor?" Horace asked.

"How about Poison Maker?" Tom asked.

"NO, I will put you down as Retail Sales, take a bloody job with Borgin and Burke and then go off and kill and torture people. At least Dumbledore will be off my back, good day Tom," Horace snapped.

Tom left with a smile on his face, he loved making the old man angry.
