With only a few specters left until the zone was purified, the Batter visited Zacharie to prepare for the tougher battles he suspected were ahead. After paying for a new bat, he watched silently as Zacharie counted out the credits he had been handed to make certain he hadn't been swindled. While he was seemingly distracted, the Batter reached for the other's mask, but his hand was swiftly caught before the goal was accomplished.
"You'll have to pay extra for that, friend." Zacharie let his hand go and continued counting the credits nonchalontly. The Batter frowned.
"Why do you always hide your face?" he asked. Zacharie let out his trade mark laugh before replying.
"Says the man with his cap constantly pulled down." The Batter made an indignant noise before pulling his baseball cap up far enough to show his eyes. Zacharie glanced over boredly before pocketing the credits.

"I never agreed to a trade. I'm not sure why you think that means anything." The Batter gritted his teeth behind pursed lips. As useful as Zacharie had been during the Batter's travels, he sure was a pain in the ass. Not to mention a cheapskate.

"You said it would cost extra. How much?"

"More than you've got."

"How would you know how much I have?" Zacharie laughed again.

"Because its three times as much as however much you have, no matter the amount," he replied smugly. The Batter clenched and unclenched his fists, trying to refrain from hitting the merchant with his newly purchased bat.

"Is it because you're so ugly?" Zacharie's eye twitched from behind the mask. He crossed his arms over his chest firmly.
"You gonna buy anything else?" The Batter rolled his eyes and nodded.

"Yeah, give me six more luck tickets," he replied. The masked man handed him the tickets silently.

"How much does that add up to?" Zacharie took a step forward and tilted his mask up a bit. The Batter's breath caught in his throat. Was this it? Was he finally going to see Zacharie's real face? Instead of pulling his mask up all the way, the merchant abruptly planted his lips on the other's, successfully confusing and stunning him. After the brief kiss, Zacharie swiftly turned on his heel and pulled his mask down. He walked away and called behind him.
"Pleasure doing business with you!" The Batter touched his mouth absently and stared after the man walking away. Despite the overwhelming and confusing feeling of elation bubbling in his stomach and radiating out of his cheeks, he felt the need to beat the shit out of him. He stuffed the luck tickets in his pockets irritably and headed off towards the Zone Guardian's suspected location. Despite his confusion about Zacharie and slight trepidation about the upcoming fight, he found himself sporting a slight smile on his way.
