It was a rainy April night, and as he walked down the streets of Capeside,
he could barely see two feet in front of him. What he could see, he wasn't
sure he was seeing. It was as if he saw a Large sunflower yellow umbrella
and it looked as if there was someone under it, with a matching raincoat.
This would not be so unusual had it been someone on the sidewalk, but not
on the street.
As he got closer, the figure became more and more clearer. Whoever the
person was, they were dancing, dancing in the rain. Sure, he had saw this
on television, but in reality? Not a chance, especially in his small town.
Wait a minute? Not just anyone would be doing this, thought Dawson, Not
just anyone. Could it be?, He wondered.
Closer and Closer he got, waiting with anticipation to get to the person
and see if it were her.
"Joey"..he muttered with hope, and tapped her on the shoulder.
The young woman turned around.
"Oh my, Miss, I am sorry..I just thought that you were well, someone I
knew."
The woman just smiled, and continued on to her way down the street.
As Dawson walked away, he found himself reminising about the time he and
her had been in the rain. The night they were on the swings, kissing in the
rain.
Why couldn't that be her, he thought, Why couldn't that be Joey Potter.
As he walked, he wasn't sure of where he were going until he got there. As
he aproched the school, and turned the corner, it was as if he were
reliving that night, only without her. He wished for another night like
that. If only it were able to happen.
As he approched the swings, he saw a figure, like someone was there. He
thought for a moment, but hung his head in disgust of himself for even
thinking it.
He plopped himself down on the very last swing, noticing that whomever was
with him, was on the other far end of the swingset.
The Red Umbrella turned. She turned her head slightly, wondering who could
be there.
"Omg, Dawson?" she said in disbelief.
"Joey, omg, Joey...." he walked over and sat on the swing next to her.
"What brought you here?" she asked.
"Actually, I don't know. I was walking, and I kind of just ended up here
without thinking about it."
"Dawson...." she whispered.
Before they both had known it, they were embraced in eachothers arms, with
a kiss so passionate, that not even Pacey Witter could conquer...or could
he?
