So I was really bored last night, and was watching the episode with Brianna.. When she stated that she was going to tell Drew she loved him after she won, I started to think about what Drew's reaction would be to that. It's short, since I wrote it on my phone, but I figured I'd share it with you guys;
Drew gazed up at his Masquerain as it flitted through the sky, almost faster than the human eye could see; He was training on a beach, taking some time off to try and improve his pokemon before doing more contests. He had a few weeks before the Johto Grand Festival. One main thing he realized he was doing wrong in the battles was speed- he just wasn't fast enough.
"Alright, Masquerain. Good job, we're done for the day. We can work on it more tomorrow," he said.
There'd been a contest going on in the local town that he'd watched to see the competition. There were a lot of good coordinators, and knew he needed to improve. He'd made it to the last round at the Hoenn Grand Festival, but didn't even make it to the Kanto semi-finals. He wanted to win the Johto one.
"Mr. Drew?" He heard a voice say from behind him.
He quirked a brow, glancing over to see who spoke. It was Brianna, the girl May introduced him to, and a big fan of his. He'd seen her in the contest as she won her first ribbon. "Hey. Brianna, right?" He asked.
She nodded and flushed brightly, looking as nervous around him as ever, but didn't have anyone to hide behind. "Yo-you remember me?" She asked, eyes wide.
"Yeah. You did great at the contest. You've improved a lot since last time I saw you compete," Drew replied. Yes, he was mean to May, but that's because she was a rival.
"You saw the contest!?" She squeaked.
"Yeah. Wanted to see the competition, ya know?" He answered, shrugging simply as he returned Masquerain to it's pokeball. "So what's up?" He asked, wondering if she just wanted to say hi, or had a reason for coming over.
"I-I uhm.. Wanted to tell you something. I've, erm, actually wanted to tell you since I met you.." She said, seeming to have a hard time getting out her words.
He rose a brow, but didn't respond, letting her continue.
"I really look up to you, but see you as more than just competition. You're really nice, an talented, and actually pretty cute and just wanted to tell you that I've always dreamed about going on a date with you," she said in a rushed tone, so that Drew had trouble keeping up, having to process everything, repeating her words a few times in his head to make sense of them.
Once he realized that she was basically asking him out, he had to figure out how to answer. With May, he would have flipped his hair and told her to keep dreaming, but Brianna was just a poor girl with a crush. "Well, I really don't have time for that sort of thing.. Plus I don't think it'd be in good taste since we're both coordinators," he said, scratching the back of his head.
"O-oh. Okay. I understand.." She said, looking down.
"Yeah.. Sorry. I mean, I'm flattered and all. I just don't have time," he said. "It was great seeing you again.. But I, uh, gotta go," he said.
She nodded in response. "O-okay! It was nice seeing you," she called as he turned away, heading away from her, holding up a hand to wave at her.
