This story's short, but I think it's kind of cute. I hope you like it! And disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail, or the characters.

Erza sat crosslegged on the grass, looking out at the sea behind Fairy Tail as the sun set. The wind swept her long red hair in front of her face and her thumbs twiddled in her lap. Erza's eyes followed a gold and ruby butterfly as it struggled in the wind. It was joined by a second. They desperately fought to stay aloft as what felt like barely a breeze to Erza was almost snatching their frail bodies out of the air.

The Fairy Tail wizard stood up and held out a gauntleted hand. The butterflies alighted gracefully on the cool metal.

"Oi, Erza," a soft voice called from behind her, "what have you got there?"

Erza turned gently so as not to disturb the two insects. Lucy's face lit up with excitement as she saw the shiny wings. She knelt forward, her nose almost brushing against the delicate creatures. Erza smiled down on her friend.

"Butterflies … kawaii," Lucy whispered. She looked up and she and Erza made eye contact. They didn't break away.

The wind died down, and Erza's two little friends left her. Lucy stood up straight, her face an inch away from Erza's. The red haired girl put her hand on her stomach. Butterflies, she thought.

Lucy leaned forward. The wind came back. It blew both of the girls' hair around their faces, and when the wind calmed, and their hair fell back into place, their lips were touching. Erza put her arm around Lucy's waist.

After they pulled out of their embrace, Lucy felt her stomach. Butterflies, the blond haired girl thought, as she stifled the huge smile that was beginning to spread across her face.
