Down the spiral staircase he ran

Chapter 1

Author's note: I changed a few things is the story (including the name) after some harsh reviews I received. People! If you don't have any thing good to say, then just don't say anything! Anyhow… I hope you like this better. I'll be posting up the next chapter soon so keep checking for it. Yours truly, Ronda.

Down the spiral staircase he ran. Bam, Bam, Bam, his footsteps echoed on the stone walls around him. Thud! He reached a landing and didn't stop for breath before continuing down a corridor. 'Hurry!' he told himself, 'he'll catch you if you don't.' Through the hidden door, down the marble staircase, look out for the disappearing step! He jumped the last five stairs with ease and landed catlike on the soft velvet carpet. 'Quick! Open the wooden door!' he stepped outside and hastily closed the door behind him. 'Com'on run! The Forest's your only chance! Even Dumbledore can't help you now…' The thought depressed him as he ran past Hagrid's hut towards the forest. 'What now?' he wondered, reaching the thick wood at last. Then, Terry saw it. He just couldn't believe his eyes. A tree trunk next to him started twitching, and the next second, Dumbledore's head, silver beard and all, emerged from it.

"Professor Dumbledore, how-"

"No time for explanations, Terry. I'll tell you just this: You mustn't tell anyone what you saw quite yet. Not even Freddy." He added as Terry opened his mouth to speak. "Go to the hollow, quickly, be quiet and avoid any meetings on the way. Set it up for tomorrow, and I shall contact you when it is safe to return to the castle. Good night, and good luck."

And with that, Dumbledore's head disappeared from the tree leaving it indistinguishable from the other trees around it.

'Ok, I know what I have to do, now it's time to show my skills.' Off into the forest he ran, the trees around him swallowing him into their midst. The sound of his footsteps gradually grew quieter, then, he was gone.
