I watched HP 6 yesterday and I just couldn't resist. That scene in Hagrit's Hut makes me bawl like a baby every time I watch or are reminded of it. Even though it isn't part of the book and I'm normally stuck with the prejudice that only the actual books tell the true story of Harry Potter, but lets forget about that for a second. I just love the idea of the lily petal that turns into Francis. PERIOD!
"The day I came downstairs, the day the bowl was empty, was the day your mother..." *sob*
Well, here it goes.
Thank You

Horace Slughorn was making his way down to the dungeons.
Three weeks had passed since the final battle and parts of Hogwarts had already been rebuild. But not only Hogwarts had been destroyed. He was working hard on changing the quite negative reputation of his House.
The British wizarding population had been so relieved that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was gone they had pushed the role Slytherin House had played in the war aside. For some time. But very soon they had started to remember.
People started to question Headmistress McGonnagall's decision to appoint him Deputy Headmaster.
Him.
A Slytherin.
And as soon as they remembered they also forgot.
That he had been one of those fighting against You-Know-Who, himself.
That he had helped bringing He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named down.
That he had been one of the late Albus Dumbledore's best friends.
That that brilliant wizard had trusted him.
Him.
A Slytherin.
To Professor Slughorn's continuous dismay it had been a very major part his students had in the destruction of Hogwarts castle.
He knew that they had been torturing and tormenting first years and people from all the other houses.
He knew that some of the older members of his house had been Death Eaters before the war had even "officially" started.
And even though that was what the House of the Cunning and Ambitious were known for, they hadn't been betting on the winning side.
Sighting the Head of Slytherin House opened the door to his office with a wave of his wand and a murmured "Harry Potter". He entered and looked around. It was the same room Severus Snape had used to teach Harry Occlumency, but Slughorn didn't know that. Neither did he know that his predecessor had been innocent. An innocent man that had sacrificed his life for a boy he despised.
Slowly the Professor circled his desk and the slumped down into the comfortable throne-like chair sitting behind it. Propping his elbows on the smooth wooden surface in front of him, he let his head sink in his hands and then flinched back abruptly.
A fishbowl sat at the corner of his bureau. There was a flower petal floating on the surface of the clear water filling it.
The soft white petal of a lily.
It was slowly sinking. Deeper and deeper. Horace Slughorn sucked in a deep breath. His nerves were frayed. He knew what would happen when the flower touched the bottom of the glass bowl. He knew, but still, he wasn't sure. He didn't want it not to happen and he would be extremely disappointed if it didn't happen. So he hoped and waited.
It did happen.
The petal stopped sinking and transformed. Suddenly a fish was turning circles in the water.
A note neatly tucked below the bowl said:
"For showing as much bravery as she did.
Thank you."
Hope you liked it and please review.
