Prologue
In a time of old and ancient arts of chakra and ninjitsu, there lived a powerful clan called Uchiha. Famous for their power and strength they were a proud and respected clan. In this clan their lived a small family with a loving couple and two sons. The oldest by only a few months, was a promising and skilled swordsman. The youngest was also a gifted in the way of the sword but inside him was lurking a more powerful gift.
Years passed and the brothers were inseparable but one day fate took a hand in the older brother's life and decided to offer him a unique path given to a specially selected few. An organization known only as The Order, gave the brother who had turned 16 the chance to dedicate his life to a higher purpose. To serve and protect the universes bloodstream, the Mobius Strip, where other worlds and alternate timelines are connected. The brother was reluctant at first but he knew his life wasn't meant to live with his own kind. As now a member his family status and honor was disavowed from him and was no longer part of the clan.
But a year after the older brothers departure, his younger sibling began showing signs of power not even his own clan understood or do. It was then that the younger brother, under both the clan leaders and his parents decision, started to try and learn how to properly control it for his power was dangerous if not handled with care. Because of how destructive his power was, the clan named his unique power, the power of Chaos.
But shortly as the younger brother could begin his training a demon came and attacked the clan. A demon named, Nightmare. With his demon sword, Soul Edge, he annihilated the clan and took their souls bringing the clan to extinction. However the younger brother managed to survive the onslaught and vowed revenge on the demon.
During the aftermath the younger brother found a teacher who taught him to control and harness his impressive powers and trained him for months until he was finally able to have total control of his powers. However because of his clan's inherited Rage, the brother needed to keep himself in check or else he could destroy everything around him. Soon after finally managing to embrace his chaos power, from that moment on could no longer age. He would remain a 17 year old boy for the rest of his days.
After his chaos training ended he devoted a large portion of his life to learning, developing, and controlling his other skills so that when he faced Nightmare, he'd be ready. But as time passed evolution took place, the world grew larger and the human world became more advanced where his old life no longer existed. The younger brother spent all that time secluded from the world to be certain he couldn't hurt anyone. Finally the younger brother was on the hunt for Nightmare and for years tried to find him and kill him.
His hunt lead him to modern-day Japan where he managed to sense Nightmare's presence in over countless years. However while he hunted the demon swordsman he found himself awkward around the masses of people around ht e area. He understood the language but it had been centuries since he last communicated with any human being. But one day when he noticed Nightmare's presence close by he immediately went after him. But it was only one of Nightmare's servants who ambushed and nearly killed the younger brother. He survived the ambush but fell into an ally in a garbage pile.
He would have died had it not been for a local boy who found him and carried him off to safety. After their escape the brother and the Japanese boy became friends and the boy taught the brother about modern day culture. It's been a solid year since that day and now is where our story finally begins with our heroes, Kazuko the last of the Uchiha Clan and Saito the next Gandalf...
Chapter 1: Contracts are sealed and rules shall be followed
One day as Kazuko and Saito were walking home back from fixing Saito's piece of crap laptop. As they made their way home they saw the oddest thing; a green oval shaped thing in the middle of the street. "Uh Kazuko are you doing this?", asked Saito.
"No Saito it's not me. I've never seen anything like this before.", replied Kazuko.
"Then what is it?" replied Saito.
"If I knew that Saito I'd have an answer for you.", replied Kazuko.
"Then what should we do about it, nobody seems to notice but us? Think we should maybe go through it?", suggested Saito.
"OK so what in that brain of yours thinks, that is a brilliant idea? We don't know what it could do, and worse off it might react violently with my powers." Kazuko replied.
"Think maybe I should try since I won't accidentally blow up a city block if I get mad?", Saito teased.
"No way buddy I'm not risking your life. I'll be careful.", Kazuko said. Kazuko then touched it and it felt weird, unlike anything felt before. But then Saito got too curious and poked at it too. "Saito stop we don't know what- AHHHHHHH!", suddenly before the two of them could react, they were both sucked into it. Saito and Kazuko fell into it and then landed on some weird stone walled school.
A few moments later they both woke up, "Saito where the heck are we?", Kazuko asked.
"I have no idea, you probably have a better idea than I do. Hang on, are we in some sort of school. There's all these people in uniforms and their staring at us.", Saito said. "What are they saying? I don't understand them.", Saito asked.
"Wait a minute? I've heard this language before, except I'm rusty with translation."
"Well are they going to kill us?"
"No but I think were not going anywhere for a while. Let's try and ask whats happening.", Kazuko suggested. Before Saito could get up a girl with pink hair came up to his face and then planted a kiss on him right out of no where, to both Kazuko and Saito's surprise. Then Saito's body began to burn up and felt like he was on fire. Kazuko tried to do something but to no avail. But then after the burning stopped Kazuko could suddenly understand what everyone was saying.
"What just happened?! Where are we?", Kazuko demanded.
Then a teacher presumably held out a staff and answered Kazuko, "Easy! Your in the Tristain academy of magic. We don't mean you any harm.", he said calmly. Kazuko backed down from his aggression and tried to keep calm. Alright so what does that mean for me and him?", Kazuko asked.
"Well...there has never been a summoning of a peasant, let alone two before. So I suppose your with Miss Louise.", he answered. Kazuko looked down at the young pink girl and she gave him a nasty look to Kazuko's annoyance.
Kazuko then carried Saito's body and walked with this, Louise girl, back to her room. As soon as they walked inside Kazuko looked around the room and thought it was quite a decent set up. "Where do I sleep?", Kazuko asked.
"On the floor.", she quickly answered.
"HAHA! No.", Kazuko replied. "Either I get my own bed or you sleep on the floor, I am not going to degrade myself to sleeping on the floor."
"I am nobility and you have no say in the matter nor this familiar.", she said.
"OK then were at an impasse.", Kazuko said.
"Not quite there is another way we can resolve this whoever you are.", she replied.
"Oh there's a spare bedroom perfect, then were at an agreement.", soon as Kazuko exited the room Louise then slammed it shut and locked it. "I've never been so tempted to kill a young student before but she's about to become the exception!", he thought. "Forget it! I'll find my own spot to sleep!", he yelled. Even though she was a brat Saito was capable of handling someone with an attitude and besides she didn't seem all that dangerous. HOW WRONG HE WAS.
After a while Kazuko found a nice spot by a fountain and laid on the edge. But then he heard a couple walking by and talking along the opposite end. "Go away. Find somewhere else to talk.", Kazuko said rudely. A red head with dark skin approached him and replied back, "Is that any way to treat nobility?"
"It's how I treat everyone after a long day so scram!", Kazuko yelled.
"Wait are you that other peasant that Louise the Zero summoned? Why aren't you with her?"
"I'm not her familiar, whatever you people call it, and she kicked me out when she wouldn't let me sleep on the bed."
"Ahahaha! Louise the Zero treats her familiar's very poorly and is so quick to leave them behind.", the girl said.
"Don't care, go away please. I got a massive headache and I don't know why, it is really pounding on me right now.", Kazuko said sounding like what he was describing. But then Saito came out of a hallway and was running away from something. "Um Saito what are you doing?", asked Kazuko.
"Escaping! That girl will come back and do who knows what! We got to get out of here! Can you chaos control us out of here and back to Tokyo?", asked Saito.
"My head is killing me right now I can't focus like this man. Just let me sleep it off then we'll be back home in no time. Sure we can handle one night.", Kazuko said nonchalantly.
"Gah! I got to run! Every man for himself.", Saito screamed.
To Kazuko this was a minor inconvenience and thought it would resolve itself quickly by tomorrow but unknown to him it was quite the opposite. Saito soon managed to run outside the school but not long as he was sprinting across the field he suddenly was floating up in the air. "AHHH! What's going on! Why am I up here?", he screamed. Soon he saw the big clear sky and saw there were two moons, it finally hit him he wasn't home anymore. Soon he was let down to the ground by a blonde guy with a rose for a wand.
"Now then Louise take extra care of your familiar so it won't run off.", he said.
"I'll make sure he doesn't.", she said glaring at Saito to his worry.
Louise dragged Saito by the ear and took him back to her room. Saito complained the whole way back on how it hurt being dragged across which crossed Kazuko's ears and caused him to get upset. At this point Kazuko couldn't take it anymore so he went back to settle things with that brat ounce and for all. As soon as Louise opened the door Kazuko called out to her, "HEY! What is the big idea?!"
"Oh its you."
"Yeah its me. Just what is going on that is making you torment my friend we just got mixed up in this mess and your treating him like a disobedient dog."
"Because that's exactly what he is!"
"He's not perfect I'll be the first to admit but running away from you is something anyone would try if they had to stay in the same room with you.", Kazuko insulted.
"HOW DARE YOU TALK TO ME LIKE THAT! Just for that I may just disown you as being my responsibility.", Louise yelled in fury.
"I hope you do! And along with Saito so then that way were all happy."
"Saito was the one who appeared right before me, you just got wound up in the middle. So I don't need to take care of you but this dog is under my care.", Louise replied.
"What care?! You dragged me by the ear, have me sleep on the floor, and you were going to make do your laundry! That doesn't sound like care at all!", Saito protested.
"Both of you shut up! I'm nobility so both of you will do as I say MY WORD IS LAW!", she yelled. Saito and Kazuko looked at teach other and knew exactly how to handle this. They locked her out of her own room and laid out a pile of hay for her to sleep on. Louise banged ferociously on the door demanding to let her inside. Kazuko and Saito began to sleep on the opposite sides of the bed as far apart as possible.
"This stinks why can't there be tow beds?", Saito complained.
"Just don't toss and turn then we'll be fine. Hehehe and best of all in case she tries to do anything-"
"YOU TOOK MY WAND YOU THIEF!", Louise yelled.
"Kazuko you are a genius.", Saito said smiling at karma working it's magic.
"Yeah yeah just go to sleep. My head is still pounding and I hope a good nights rest will make it go away.", Kazuko said drifting to sleep.
Louise tried to bang on the door hoping the noise would force them to give in but those two were heavy sleepers so it didn't make a difference. Louise felt humiliated and sat on the hay in frustration. "Why did I have to wind up with those two idiots?"
Morning...
Soon as morning rose Kazuko's headache finally subsided and felt like he could use his power to get him and Saito out of this crazy place. "Saito wake up I think we can go back home now."
As soon as Saito heard that he leaped out of bed and was ready to leave. Kazuko raised out his arm and said, "Chaos...Control!", but nothing happened. "What the hell? CHAOS CONTROL!", still nothing. "What the hell?! I lost my powers?!", Kazuko cried out.
"HUH?! You mean you don't have them anymore?", Saito reacted.
"Wait?", he meditated for a moment and came to a reliving conclusion. "No they just aren't exactly properly flowing through my body. Possibly from going through that portal. So we'll just have to stay until I can reconnect with them. I say we just hang around here until I can get them back to full power.", Kazuko suggested.
Saito had a crazed look and thought, "OK were screwed.", Saito paced back and forth terrified that they won't last in this place. "We are so screwed.", he kept repeating.
"Settle down it's just going to take time. Besides if one brat is the worst this place has to offer then we'll be fine.", Kazuko said trying to calm his friend down. "I'm going outside where nobody can get in my way, I have to meditate and reconnect back with the chaos force. I'll be back to keep you out of trouble but give me at least an hour.", Kazuko said.
"Yeah sure I'll do my best.", just as soon as Kazuko left through the window Saito went through the door forgetting why Kazuko used the window to begin with.
"YOU STUPID DOG!", Louise greeted Saito.
Kazuko used his sword around his back to slowly descend down to the ground and safely managed to land smoothly to the ground. Kazuko shrugged himself and started making his way outside the grounds. But soon he passed by some students who were hanging around. He took a minute to see how these people interacted and how this system of magic was implemented in their lives. To Kazuko, special abilities are only as powerful as the vessel that has them. Relying just on magic alone with a weak body that can't do anything else can leave somebody vulnerable if you take their power away. Kazuko works on his swordsman skill's primarily, but spends time keeping his powers of chaos sharp as well.
Kazuko walked across a social gathering with many students interacting with one another. It was there he recognized one of them who was training a red salamander with a fire on the tip of its tail. The student was the same one from last night who disturbed him trying to rest from his headache, feeling to try and apologize for his rudeness Kazuko decided to go and talk to the student. "Pardon me miss.", he said.
"Oh well look who it is. What do you want?", she said not really liking his company.
"I simply came to apologize for acting like a jerk last night. I tend to get easily antagonized when I'm under stress and like I said last night, in a lot of pain. So can we act like last night didn't happen and try to start fresh. I have a feeling I'll be here for a while so it's best to try and have at least one friend who's used to all the odd things I'm not accustomed to.", Kazuko said.
She gave him a look saying his apology wasn't accepted but it soon turned from a glaring frown to a cute smile. "Very well then, I accept. If your not Louise the Zero's property then I suppose I can try to get to know you. After all you fascinate me.", she answered.
"Fair enough I'm Kazuko Uchiha and you are?"
"Kirche Augusta Frederica von Anhalt Zerbst. But you may call me Kirche.", she replied.
"Uhhh sure.", Kazuko replied confused by her unusually long and unpronounceable name. "Well it is nice to meet you If you'll excuse me I'll be doing some...things outside the walls."
"Oh? What kind of things?", she asked.
"Nothing serious, just don't follow me trust me.", Kazuko said walking away. Kazuko left to go try and meditate hoping to quickly regain his lost Chaos powers so that he could return back to his own world with Saito. As he walked over to the gates a group of second year students all stared and gossiped about him. Kazuko walked by them silently without a word. "They can think what they want, I just need to a quiet spot to reconnect with my powers.", Kazuko thought. Kazuko then bumped in to a maid who was about to serve someone their food. "My apologies I wasn't paying attention.", he said apologetically.
"Oh that's fine. I wasn't watching where I was going either.", the maid responded.
"Oh I'm so sorry I knocked the food off the tray.", said Kazuko. He went and grabbed a slice of pie but accidentally touched the maid's hand instead.
She blushed and said, "Oh I'm so sorry.", the maid repeated.
"Please, no big deal. What is your name?", Kazuko asked her.
"Siesta.", she answered. She looked at Kazuko for a moment and realized who he was.
"Oh now I know who you are! You're that other peasant that Louise girl had summoned yesterday. Everyone is talking about you.", she stated.
"I thought everybody was interested in Saito. He's her familiar. I'm just here by chance.", Kazuko said.
"But nobody knows who you are or what you can do, your the bigger mystery. You and miss Vallière's familiar are all anyone's talking about. Saito, was his name?", Siesta asked.
Kazuko nodded, "Yes you would like him, he may have no idea about the fundamental's of your ways of life but it's that same ignorance that makes him not give a dame about it. You two would get along almost right away." Siesta giggled thinking that Kazuko was just trying to be nice. "Pardon me but isn't it degrading that you're forced to do all these mundane tasks for these people? ?" he asked.
"Well to answer the question it's not as bad as you think, though there are some bad days.", Siesta answered.
"I was just curious.", Kazuko paused for a moment. He didn't wish to admit it but he never understood why these kinds of things were the way they were. It was too reminiscent of his past.
"Are you OK?", Siesta asked.
"Yes I'm fine I just was remembering something. I must go I've got much to do.", he said leaving.
"Wait I never got you're name.", Siesta asked.
"Kazuko.", he answered as he left.
Kazuko found a spot to train in peace and started with the basic moves in his chaos training. Louise then came by and wanted to speak with him. "Hey listen-", Kazuko cut her off to say his piece.
"Listen I get that your reputation really blows but for gods sake don't take it out on him. He's a good guy if you get to know him.", Kazuko said.
"And why should I care for his well-being to such a privileged degree? He disobeyed his master and without discipline he'll just be a laid back idiot who can't do anything but peasant duties?", replied Louise.
"Because he's just been roped into something he has no understanding of. I'm more adaptable but could you go easier on him. You can be a little stern with him but don't be so cruel to him if you have already.", Louise paused. "He saved my life a year ago where we came from and I was a complete stranger. So imagine how he'll do his job when you show him some compassion. Promise you he'll be as any loyal friend if you give him a break.", Kazuko said in Saito's defense.
Louise stood there speechless. She felt ashamed of herself and had no idea that Saito meant that much to him. Even if he was lying about being from another world his loyalty to Saito was still heartfelt and he was sincere in his defense.
"Kazuko was it? I will respectfully take your word for my familiar's defense, and I will try to treat him more fairly.", Louise said sincerely.
"I appreciate it. And as a show of good faith I also apologize for my own behavior regarding my actions against you.", replied Kazuko.
"Don't think for a moment it's going to be that easy. From now on I will determine when I forgive you for locking me out of my own room! Be grateful I don't punish you the same way I did to that do- I mean Saito.", Louise said.
"Fair enough.", Kazuko replied. Louise left for Kazuko to meditate and then focused on his powers. He remembered his teachings from his mentor and tried to figure out how to reconnect with them. A half hour passed and he felt like he was making progress until he heard a crowd from the far side of the academy. He ran over and saw Saito being beaten by a knight.
Kazuko rushed over passed the crowd and went toward Saito, he was bruised and beaten badly. Kazuko turned over to see that the same guy who levitated Saito last night was controlling the knight. "Back off you scumbag!", yelled Kazuko.
"Now hold on first off my name is not scumbag, I am Lord Guiche and this duel is between me and this peasant. Unless you'd be willing to share his humiliation?", Guiche stated.
"You're damn right I'll intervene.", said Kazuko.
Louise approached and begged Saito to not continue. "You've done well there's no reason to continue!"
"Very well If you wish to share in this peasants humiliation and if he wishes to continue, pick up that sword. Otherwise you must say, I'm sorry.", Guiche said as he summoned a sword from the ground.
Saito rose up and went for the sword, but Louise tried to stop him. "Wait if you pick up that sword he wont hold back he'll kill you!", said Louise.
"Are you crying?", asked Saito looking like he saw some real concern for him..
"No way! As your master I'm naturally concerned for you.", she replied.
"Don't worry Louise if he continues the duel Guiche has already lost.", Kazuko reassured.
"He's right about that for sure! Fine I accept!", cried Saito.
