Disclaimer: Don't own, so nobody sue

Strange oneshot I came up with during a free class. I hope y'all enjoy this, it was damned hard to write.

Rau

Blue eyes hid behind glass shields, a fragile heart of glass hiding behind a calm exterior. A man without a name, in a world that didn't care. Why would they care? He wasn't "natural". A clone, the copy of an evil man. Merely a shadow of a dead man, not his own person. A shadow, soft and silent, always there, but never noticed.

Never noticed, never cared for. No-one ever noticed when he shattered under his pain. No-one noticed his once gentle hands shatter a glass, no-one saw the tears that built up in his eyes. They didn't notice, nor did they want to. No-one ever held him when he cried, but merely hurried by, caught up in their own lives.

And yet, his team noticed him. They cared for him, they leaned on him. They looked to him as a pillar of strength, never shaken, always there in times of confusion. His team, lost to the evils of their race, yet refusing to give up hope. Refusing to give up on a race that was going straight to hell. They were proud and strong, yet still children, his children.

They were breaking under their pain, yet they still fought. They were still strong. Putting their own pain aside for their race. Why couldn't they see? Why couldn't they understand? It was the race they were fighting for that was shattering them. Their race didn't care about the young boys putting themselves through hell. They only cared about themselves.

That sealed his resolve. Yes, he would destroy both races, just like he'd decided to do so long ago. But now, it was to spare these boys the pain he'd gone through. To stop them from noticing how little their lives mattered to these people. To stop them from realising that they were nothing more than a minor sacrifice. They meant nothing, but he could spare them that pain. Even if he had to kill them, he would protect them.

In his death, in their death, and in the destruction of their race, he would protect them. Protect what was left of their youth, of their innocence, before their uncaring race shattered them completely. Before their strenght was diminshed, and their will to survive was gone anyway.

That was the only way out. For him to protect his children in death.

Confused? Don't feel bad, I am too. Just kidding, this is Rau's thoughts on his team, and how he wants to stop them from feeling what he went through. And if he's OOC, please tell me. And please drop a review.
