Harry pulled out his keys with a sigh and put his shopping under his arm as he opened the door to his flat and prepared himself for another lonely night sitting by the tv.
"SURPRISE!" Harry stumbled backwards as the grinning faces of his old friends stared out at him.
"What...?" He was cut short as he was engulfed in a bone-crushing hug by a tall man with bright red hair. "Harry! it's so great to see you again!" Harry stared up in shock at the man who he hadn't seen for 3 years.
"How...What..." Ron chuckled. "None of us knew where you had gone after you left, but we all got letters of your landlord who was organising a surprise party for you." He grinned the famous weasley lobsided grin. "So happy birthday Harry!"
Having got over his shock, Harry looked around at the people crammed into his tiny one-bedroomed flat. All his old friends were gathered there smiling at him. Seamus, Dean, Lavender, Luna, Mrs & Mr Weasley, George, Bill, Fleur, Charlie, Lina, Ernie, Blaise, Neville, Headmaster Dumbledore and...Hermione Granger.
"Hermione...?" The woman smiled softly and nodded. She held her arms wide open and Harry rushed to hug her. He had not seen Hermione since they were eighteen and she had gone to magical university in america.
"Happy Birthday Harry." She wispered in his ear before softly pulling away and smiling.
Harry Potter woke up with a jerk and turned over to stare at the ceiling of St Mungo's ward for the mentaly unstable. A single tear ran down his cheek as he looked towards the clock on his bedside table. 00:01am 31 July. Happy Birthday indeed.
