Chapter One: Being a Short & Heartfelt Introduction by the Author to Her Readers

This story which I am about to relate to you (God willing) is a somewhat subjective view of John Bunyan's The Pilgrim's Progress. As I felt that some annotations to the journey of Bunyan's main character, Christian, were necessary, I plan to include them in this work.

There are many things which I wish to include in this small publication; viz., the emotions and turmoil in my character's soul; her journey to Christ; and her somewhat modern infatuation with worldly things and the impact of The Way on her life. If, in any way, these things are not satisfied in this work, I hold it to God to work these out for me, as He has the final decision on all of my writings and achievements.

As you set forth reading this story, I ask for your attention to the thought processes which the character goes through: her spiritual brokenness, as compared to your own, before you found Christ. For that is something which I hope to touch upon, as many people have found wholeness in Christ Jesus, as I have.

A NOTE FOR ALL READERS: Christianity was first called "The Way"; this is the term which I refer to throughout this story. (See the Book of Acts.)

A NOTE FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN CHRIST: I do not mean to offend any person or impugn on any religion. Each person has a right to his or her own beliefs; I wish merely to entertain my readers with a thought-provoking tale.

For now, I bid you, my readers, good day.
