"...Now concentrate on keeping the fire cupped in your hand." Brown eyes were closed as their owner did as he was instructed, breathing deeply and slowly through his nose. "Good. Try to swirl it up into a ball, and do the same with the sand in your other hand." There was silence as he did so, and Dave could hear the proud, crooked smile in Balthazar's voice the next time he spoke. "Now mush them together." This was the tricky part. Eyes still closed, the Prime Merlinian turned his hands vertical to the floor and pushed them together slowly, twisting the forming glass in his hands into-for lack of a better term-an icesickle-like trinket. He'd seen Balthazar making similar brickabrak when they were dragging out Dave's many Christmas decorations, and had wanted to know how, so in the stead of learning to better transfigure things, he was learning this. He wrapped his hands around the now-cool glass and opened his eyes, grinning at the sight of a completely undisfigured spiral. He looked up to his lover and gladly accepted the gentle kiss he was given after a quietly murmured, "Beautiful."
