Anneliese's P.O.V
"He's what?" I asked again. I couldn't believe this. He was gone. My father, gone. Impossible.
"He's gone, your highness." Said Preminger. He was that creepy royal adviser who you never to be by. He was like that evil villain from Aladdin. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a weird parrot and a evil magic staff in his room, and had an evil plan. Okay, maybe a little, but only the parrot and magic staff. The evil plan he definitely has.
"Get out." I said. I wasn't really trying to be rude. I was just sad and needed some time alone.
"Ugh... Very well... your highness." Preminger said, with disgust. After he left, I fell on my bed and started to cry. It was just too much for me to handle. I had always been so close with my father. Sometimes, even when mother didn't understand me he did. He always listened to everything I had to say. Sort of like Julian did. Julian. I thought, Where are you when I need you. Julian was my tutor and best friend. He was always there for me, no matter what happened. I had also fallen in love with Julian. I didn't know when it actually happened, it just did. The problem was I didn't really think that he was in love with me, and the whole marry royalty rule didn't help much. I felt more tears go down my cheeks. I wished Julian could be there. No one else would understand. No one else would listen. Only Julian would listen. Only Julian would understand. Only Julian would no what to say.
Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door.
"Go away." I said. I was in no mood for manners. I didn't care if it was the King of Dulcenia. I wanted to be alone.
"Anneliese." Said the wonderfully familiar voice of Julian, "It's me Julian. Please let me in. " I quickly got up, and opened the door. Julian stood outside it, in his regular blue suit. His short dark blonde hair pulled back in the same style it always was. His blue eyes were full of concern and compassion.
"Oh, Julian." I said, and hugged him. He was a bit surprised, but soon returned the hug.
"Tell me what's wrong." He said.
"My father's gone." I said. The tears started to fall down my cheeks again. Julian quickly wiped them away. I blushed, it was a bit embarrassing to cry in front of Julian. Julian looked sadly at me, and then sat down by me and put an arm around me.
"I remember when my father died. At first it didn't seem really. Then it came time to have to accept the truth. Then, you realize that they're not really as gone as they seem, and they'll always be with us in our hearts. They're watching us, Anneliese. Making sure we don't get hurt." Julian said it so surely and confidently. It was a bit unusual since he was always so shy.
"Thanks Julian." I said, "You're a real friend."
"You're welcome, Anneliese, and remember I'll always be there for you." Julian said, and smiled at me.
"So will I." Anneliese said. Julian smiled.
"Are you alright now?" Julian asked softly. I nodded.
"I'm fine." I said.
"Good. Now, you better get ready for your Science lessons." Julian said, and smiled again. I smiled back, and went to get my books.
