It is as easy to count atomies as to resolve the propositions of a lover; but take a taste of my finding him, and relish it with good observance. I found him under a tree, like a dropped acorn. Shakespeare, As You Like It Act 3
"This young man must be special," Sola said in a slightly teasing voice. "He's the first boyfriend you've ever brought home."
"He's not my boyfriend," Padme blushed slightly, "he's a Jedi, temporarily assigned to be my bodyguard."
"Uhuh, sure." Sola's spoke knowingly. "So, how did the two of you meet?"
Padme smiled warmly as she thought about the first time she saw Anakin. "We actually met several years ago when Obi-wan and Qui-gon Jinn took me to Tatooine. He was a slave who worked in this junk shop." She giggled girlishly. "He thought I was an angel."
"He looks at you as though he still thinks that."
Luke sighed as he pushed the vegetables around on his plate. Beru rolled her eyes as the gesture is mirrored by her husband. "For land sakes, you'd think it'd kill the two of you to eat some greens!"
"Well you didn't have to make so much of it!" Owen sulked.
"There was a good balance of meat and vegetables on your plates before you ate the roast bantha! At least try it, it's good."
"If you like it so much, you can have mine." Luke started to push his plate her way.
"No you don't," Beru chuckled slightly as she stopped him.
"Who was that girl I saw you walk home yesterday?" Owen changed the subject, hoping to cover the fact that he still was not eating the offensive-smelling and so-healthy-that-it-was-guaranteed-to-taste-gross vegetables before him.
Luke smiled dreamily. "Lani." He drew out the vowels as he spoke her name.
Beru and Owen both held back laughter as they observed the affect the boy's latest crush had upon him.
"How did you two meet?" Luke wondered as he looked at the both of them with his earnest blue eyes. He was surprised to see his uncle blush and raised an eyebrow as the older man actually began eating the fowl vegetables.
Beru laughed slightly. "Oh, he dropped in on me one day."
"Huh?"
"Eat your vegetables, Luke." Owen said gruffly to forestall further explanation from his wife.
"Mom, when did you realize you first loved dad?"
"From the first time we met, actually."
"But, dad said you were a cold fish at first."
"Well, I couldn't exactly let his already over-inflated ego know right away!" Leia and Jaina laughed together.
