DISCLAIMER: I don't own ReBoot, Bob, Enzo Matrix, the Guardian, Mainframe, Turbo, Dot, the Academy, the Cadet, the User... Shall I go on? Who out there doesn't know that Mainframe Entertainment owns the whole thing? And I don't own La Scala, either. That's an actual place in Milan, Italy. And neither do I own "Pas de Deux."
AN: This one's a Fine Arts Survey 11 assignment that I thought could find a little home here... lol We were supposed to be writing a letter to someone to tell them about a dance performance we saw (using technical ballet terms) and it hit me on the day before it was due that I could write it with ReBoot. Anyway, this is just a light little thing. I don't really care if you review or not.

Subject: Hey, Tiger...
I come from the Net. I come from systems, peoples, and cities, to this place: Mainframe. My format: Guardian. To mend and defend. To def--
Oh, what's the point? I'm not even in Mainframe anymore, I'm stuck here in the Userworld! I know what you're thinking, Tiger. How did I get here? I have no idea. I was just forming a portal to... It doesn't matter anyway, Enzo. I'm stuck here in Userworld, which is random in itself, so I might as well make the most of it. Until I figure out a way to get back home, of course.
You once told me Dot taught you ballroom dancing when you were younger. Well, guess what I did last second-- I mean, yesterday? I saw a dance performance (that's right, Users can dance) called "Pas de Deux" at a place they refer to as La Scala. Don't laugh, kiddo, I had nothing else to do! Besides, it was a refreshing change from viruses and the Web... And it wasn't too bad, either.
The place was packed! There were thousands of Users (plus one Sprite, of course) all crowded in there just to see "Pas de Deux." Now, I'm sure Dot would want me to describe the whole thing to you-- she'd say it was an "educational experience worthy of importance to a compiling Sprite like you" --but don't worry, I won't. I'm on your side, remember, Tiger? I'll just tell ya what one nano-- I mean, minute --of it was like.
The lights dimmed and for an instant we were in total darkness. Then the stage lit up and one female User became visible in the centre of the stage. She was down on the ground, and then she gracefully lifted her arms up in 4th position. Then she kneeled and made wavy motions with her arms in 2nd position. She stood up, feet in 2nd position, and then took steps to the sides with her feet in 5th position. She did a slow grand battement, and then had bras bas. Soon after, a male User joined her and they completed the duet. At the end, we applauded and filed out of the theatre.
I admit it, I did like the experience. It reminded me of a system I visited as a Cadet and a joke our class played on Prime Guardian Turbo... Believe me, seeing him in a pink tutu and slippers was worth the detention and demerits he gave us!
A word of warning, Enzo. When they say they prepare you for everything at the Academy, they mean it. Just hope you don't get Instructor Lotus for your Dance Basics semester...
Oh, and one more thing, kid-- Don't tell Dot I enjoyed it. She'll hound me forever.
Stay frosty,
Bob Duggan
