AN: Quick little fluffy oneshot. Not mine.

Luna only had physical scars in three places. She'd had many more, once upon a time, but many of them had faded under treatment of potions. She liked them, in some ways, because they reminded her that she had done what was right.

On those occasions where she looked into a mirror, it was those scars her eyes went to. One on the back of her hand, for having helped tell the truth. One was on her shoulder, from the final battle, a small cut sustained in the battle with Lestrange. And the last was on her chest, the sole remaining one from the many she had received in a basement, having done everything she could to make certain it were her taking them instead of a fragile old man.

The attack that had done the most damage had not been in the war. It had been almost three years later, when she was enjoying an expedition in Wales, alone. Umbridge and two other fugitives, out for revenge against the closest of Harry Potter's friends who could be gotten alone. She had gotten a message away, calling for help, and the help had mostly arrived in time.

She wasn't in the permanent spell damage ward, after all.

Luna turned away from the mirror, dressing quickly. It was... Friday today? Saturday? It was useless to try to tell. She never knew if she would remember the day she'd just lived the next; she did about half of the time, but it tended to run in streaks. She'd left herself notes for the first year, reminding herself just what had happened, but as it fell into routine she found she liked the surprise each day.

Stepping out of her room, she moved down to go to breakfast. "Oh, good morning, Luna." Ginny said, her third pregnancy just starting to show. "Good morning, Ginny. Friday?"

Ginny hmmed at that, not answering. "Yeees, but... do you remember me telling you about the baby?" Luna remembered all or nothing about a day; if Ginny was asking that, then she was on quite a bad streak - at least a week. Unfortunate. Luna smiled softly, however, and shook her head.

"Oh. Well, it's a girl, Luna. And.. with your permission, we've decided to name your goddaughter Lily Luna." Luna managed to almost focus at that, looking straight at Ginny with a broad smile. "Lily Luna? That's wonderful of you. I'd be honored, of course."

Harry walked in at that moment, in a cheerful mood. "You've told her again, then? Well, the other part will be a nice surprise, then."

Luna looked curiously at Harry, surprised by this. He slid a sheet of paper across to her, which she read over quickly, seeing her own signature in blood on the bottom below Harry and Ginny's. "...Really?" She asked, looking wide-eyed at the pair.

"Really." Ginny confirmed, a smile on her face. "It's been the truth for years, of course, but we thought we'd make it official. Both for everyone else knowing, and in case something happened where we needed to be related to help you."

Luna stood quickly, embracing Ginny and then Harry, leaving the paper declaring her legally and magically adopted as a sister to the pair on the table.

"I do love happy surprises."
