Chapter 1
"What do you mean 'Who's Liana?'" Merlin cried with worry in his voice.
The knights and Arthur continued to stare at him dumbfounded. As they stood near their escape route out of Geren's castle.
"Merlin" Gwaine said stepping forward, "we don't know what you're talking about. Also, we don't have time for this, Geren's men will be along soon enough."
"You're right Gwaine." Arthur agreed. "We are leaving now."
"But Arthur-" Merlin was cut off.
"That is an order Merlin. We go. NOW!"
"No!"
"He must have banged his head and I'm not in the mood to argue. Percival!" Arthur called.
Percival stepped forward, "I'm sorry Merlin." With a hard punch to the gut, Merlin crumpled to the floor. Banging his head as he did so and losing consciousness.
2 weeks later…
"This isn't fair!" Merlin cried as he stormed into Gaius' workshop.
"Merlin?" Gaius replied looking up from his book.
"Arthur has been making me follow him around, clean his clothes and attend to the knights. Last time I checked that was Liana's job. And did I mention that nobody besides me and you can even remember who Liana is!" He collapsed on the floor in a heap of stress and tiredness.
"I thought it was only Arthur, Percival, Leon, Eliyan and sadly Gwaine." Gaius stood up from his seat, walking over to Merlin and offering him a cup of water.
Merlin sat up, leaning against the table and replied, "That's what I thought, until I happened to mention Liana to the local baker, he had no idea who she was. I tested it again, and asked the tavern owner, and even the man who sold her Gwen's old house. No one knows who she is."
"Have you had any luck finding out why?"
"I've been reading for so long, and absolutely nothing." He sighed in disappointment. "I need to know why we are the only ones who can remember her…I need to know where she is." Merlin stood up and faced Gaius. "I miss her Gaius."
"I know," he replied, touching Merlin's shoulder, "I miss her too."
