Usagi hugged her knees to her chest as she watched a falling star shoot through the sky. She rested her elbow against the windowsill, and her chin in her palm. The shooting star reminded her of Seiya. It had been a few months since she had seen her friend. With Mamoru back, everything seemed peaceful. They hadn't had to fight in a while, and Usagi was enjoying a wonderful, peaceful existence with her friends. "Usagi-chan?" Usagi tore her gaze from the starry night sky and smiled at Luna. Luna leapt onto the bed. "A yen for your thoughts?"

"In my hands
A legacy of memories
I can hear you say my name
I can almost see your smile
Feel the warmth of your embrace
But there is nothing but silence now
Around the one I loved
Is this our farewell?"

"I'm just thinking of how peaceful things are. I've had a lot of time to think…everyone's moving on. Mamo-chan's going back to America for college now that the threat of Galaxia has ended. High School will only last a few short years, and then everyone will move on for their own lives. Ami-chan's probably going to go to medical school. Everyone else will probably move on with their own lives, too…and Chibiusa's all ready gone back to the future. I'll be alone again."

"Sweet darling you worry too much, my child
See the sadness in your eyes
You are not alone in life
Although you might think that you are"

"Usagi-chan, it may seem like you're alone, but deep down, you're not." Usagi looked at Luna. "After all, your friends will be in your heart, and you'll be in their's. And you always have the phone. You can call them any time you want." Usagi nodded. "I guess so…sometimes…I wonder what it would be like if the Silver Millennium had never fallen. We could all still be together….and…Queen Serenity wouldn't have had to suffer like that."

"Never thought
This day would come so soon
We had no time to say goodbye
How can the world just carry on?
I feel so lost when you are not by my side
But there's nothing but silence now
Around the one I loved
Is this our farewell?"

Luna nodded. "I'm sure we all wonder what it would have been like, but don't forget, Queen Serenity died to save you and give you a peaceful existence." Usagi nodded. "I miss her," she stated, simply, "…I barely remember much of the past, but I do miss her." Luna smiled. "She's always watching over you, Usagi-chan. I'm also sure she'd be very proud of how much you've matured." Usagi smiled. "I guess you're right." She stood. "I promise….that I won't dwell on the past anymore. I'll look toward a bright and happy future with my friends." Usagi turned toward the door. "Usagi-chan!" her mother's voice called, "Mamoru-san's here!" Usagi smiled, patted Luna's head, grabbed her purse, and rushed downstairs for her date with Mamoru.

"So sorry your world is tumbling down
I will watch you through these nights
Rest your head and go to sleep
Because my child, this not our farewell.
This is not our farewell."

And as she stepped out the door, Usagi could have sworn that she heard Queen Serenity's voice whispering, "I am always watching over you."
