POWER PLAYS

(Inspired by that episode of House in Season 2 where the patient is a beautiful teenage model.

Many, many MANY thanks to my funderful beta, Katy, who's a tad fantastic, if you get me.

KT I DONT CARE IF YOU SMOKE! (lol, sorry 'bout that)

Power plays interest you. They're how you got to where you are now. Besides, you like sex, and the photographer was decent,

and your old tutor was better.

Your father was bit of a challenge - but you gave him enough beer to armour a tank, so now you basically run the show.

So when you end up in hospital, you're supremeley unconcerned - 3 out of the 4 doctors treating you are male and you'll get one, you know that much.

But what's suprising is when you put the moves on the Australian, he brushed you off - it worries you. You've never been shut down before and it's strange.

You smile inwardly when some other doctor walks in, slamming the door so that the blinds shut with a snap.

He's older - not that it bothers you - he's limping, and his T-shirt is for some band.

He starts firing questions at you - "When did your father first fuck you?" etc, etc, in a dispassionate voice, completely unshocked and looking completely uninterested. The exact opposite of the woman doctor, who was stupid enough to try to get social services involved.

You answer honestly.

" . . . and besides, I prefer older men." You smirk and stare straight into his eyes, watching as he smiles lazily and arches one eyebrow.

You up the ante, confident you've got him.

"What will it take for you NOT to tell my father about the heroin?"

You pull your best vulnerable, innocent look, hair forward, looking through your eyelashes.

He locks the door.

25 minutes later, he's pulling up his pants and your re-arranging your hospital gown.

He starts to walk out the door when you call out :-

"Hey lover, don't forget - not a word to my father."

He doesn't turn around but you see his smile reflected in the glass wall. 'Damn right you're smiling,' you think to yourself. And yet, something's not right about it. There's that slightest, tiny sense of doubt in the back of your mind – but that's all it is.

You shiver before you fall asleep.

When you wake up, you're congratulating yourself on a man well manipulated when your father explodes into the room with a harrassed-looking Dr. Cameron. You can sense the word on his lips before he manages to spit it out, but it doesn't register until a good few mintues later.

"HEROIN!"

You honestly have nothing to say, because you're too busy staring at Dr. House staring at you.

He winks, and you start to cry.
