I do not own nor profit from From Far Away. It belongs to Kyoko Hikawa.
Noriko like to sit and think of beginnings. Of birth and spring, baby animals and flowers. But her favorite memory was that of her own beginning, here in Izark's world.
How young she had been! How naïve to the ways of the world, any world. So frightened and helpless, just like a newborn lamb. Totally overcome by this strange world and all the monsters in it.
But she had a champion, however reluctant. Indeed, the image and comparison of herself as lamb to Izark's blazing fire always made her smile. What a pair they were! And what a story they had.
She had grown in her time here, both in knowledge and in body. She was not quite as helpless as she had once been. Her goal of being a suitable helpmeet to her hero had been met and surpassed, though she remained in awe of him still.
He was magnificent, and she was still giddy over the fact he was hers. That she was likewise his went without saying. He was her champion, how could she do less than commit totally to him?
From that first day, when she had so trustingly thrust her satchel into his hands, relinquishing all she owned from her former world, she had given herself into his care. It was the best decision she ever made.
