Knocked Out

Iris/Harrison AU

A/N: There is not much WestWells fan fiction out there. I wanted to try it. Constructive and polite critiques are welcome. Thanks for reading!

Disclaimer: This is a work of fan fiction. These awesome characters are not mine.

Iris stretched her arms over her head and closed the lid on her laptop. She checked her inbox, replied to e-mails, made changes to the piece she was writing, everything on her to do list completed. She felt so accomplished until she heard a loud growl coming from her tummy. She got up from the couch, walked past Harrison's study, and saw that the lights were still on. Iris prepared two sandwiches; fresh fruit arranged the plates, napkins and water glasses on the kitchen island. She plucked a few grapes to nibble as she made her way to the study.

She knocked softly on the door and waited for an answer. There was no reply. She knocked again, poked her head in, and saw Harrison's head bowed reading and making notes. Setting the pad and pen aside, he looked up and gave her a tired smile. She walked over to him and sat on the desk. He leaned back in his chair, removed his glasses and rubbed his eyes. "What time is it?" he muttered as he reached for his wristwatch. His entire morning was spent reading and grading papers.

Iris rubbed the stubble on his chin "We've been working for hours. I'm hungry and thought you might be hungry too."

He nodded, pressed his cheek into her palm and tiny kisses on her wrist. His head fell forward onto her lap as she massaged his shoulders and scalp with her fingertips. He sighed and nuzzled closer. Iris slowly twirled the locks of his curly hair, loving the way the sunlight coming through the window made the gray hair at his temples look bright silver.

"So do you want to go for a walk after lunch, stop by the bookstore and see what's new?" Again, there was no reply. Iris felt his breath warm and steady on her hip, she rubbed his back and sighed, "We can do that after you wake up from your nap."
