It was the end of another day abord the RLS Legacy Captain Amelia and her first mate Mister Arrow were sitting in the captains stateroom looking out at the vast ethrium that loomed behind the old glass.
"mister Arrow , do you know what today is?" "aye captain I do. It is Friday night gin rummy night." The stone skinned first mate turned to his felind captain her eyes glinting with challange. "Well then...shall we?"
"alright but I do believe we should mix things up a bit." "you know i dont gamble-" "Nor do I but think of it as a sort of challange more like a dare per say." "Alright what do you have in mind Arrow?" "Well Amelia I know you would love to see bridget and I together..So if you win then you shall get your chance i'll marry her. "
"and if I do by some act of randomness loose then what do you get my friend?"
"You shall not protest to any match making to a man of my chooseing." Trusting her Gin rummy skills Amelia Agreed. "Knock with two" amelia shouted it was well after mid-night and the two ofcourse had busy days tomorrow but a pot of coffee or two would fix that right up. "I'm left with one...I win."
Arrow said rather smugly. Amelia looked her hand over againand then tothe one's he laid down..it was true he had won... "would you like one more round say..until someone get's gin?" Arrow said feeling the need to sympathies with her.
Truth was he let her win quite alot Amelia was compeditive and things could get ugly but not this time he had to win for his and her sake.
finally it was well past 2 am when Arrow stated "Gin!" "Indeed you have won Arrow..." Her ears flattened. "amelia tell me why wont you just admit that you care for the man?" "what man?" "Doctor Doppler." He said smileing.
"What? I do not care for that man!" "Amelia that wasn't part of our deal and I know you very well my friend the 'I really hate you ' spill you gave the first day told me you thought he was charming."
"Blast it all Alton Arrow you are wrong!" "i believe I am right Amelia and you know I am." Amelia sighed defeated. "Very well Alton you win , I'm just scared...I never fell in love before..."
He smiled and placed a stone hand on her right sholder. "I'll help you Amelia." "What if he's what he looks like a impudent land lubber?" "Well theres always ending the relationship , but Captain you'll never know until you try. Well it is late my friend I do suppose we both need tyo get to bed." He said making his way to the door to head out to his room.
"Indeed it is old friend good night." "Good night- oh and Captain." amelia looked from her desk at him. "I want you both at the wedding in three months. "He said winking. "Your going to prepose?" "Already have...Remeber Amelia as my father said , 'Life is like a game of cards you have to deal with the hand your givin' ." "I will. and Congrates." she winked.
