Gibberings: For Val, who can be blamed for inspiring this crazy idea because of many many crazy conversations ;) And for the record let me just say I am not nor ever was an Ali hater, it's the writers I have issues with.
Spoilers: Season 3
This was made for Tiptoe39's challenge to Turn Love Into Hate. The complaint being addressed in this story is: Ali Larter plays an infinite number of characters/Niki lookalikes continue to appear
"So what exactly is this?" Micah asked, quirking and eyebrow at Monica. The former waitress-gone-unsung-hero grinned.
"Well, when you told me about your mother's twin showing up it gave me an idea."
"My mother's triplet actually," Micah corrected. "But…what is this?" Monica walked over to the large object in the center of the room. It was lumpy, and covered in an old blue sheet. She grabbed the corner of the cloth and pulled it off with a flourish.
"It's a cloning machine!"
Micah's mouth hung open at an old angle. Monica used to be a very sensible person until she accidentally watched an episode of the Simple Life and learned how to be ditzy.
"A cloning machine?" Micah repeated.
"All we need is a sample of your mom's DNA and we can have her back." Monica pulled out a lock of blonde hair and placed it on the Petri dish in the mouth of the giant machine.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Micah asked.
"Trust me I know what I'm doing! I watched a video about cloning on Youtube."
Micah nodded and said, "Do it!" because despite being a genius he was still a kid and this was really cool. Monica slammed her hand down on the thematically red button and the machine began to shake. She clung to her cousin and for the first time wondered just how much one could learn from two guys named Fred on the How-To youtube channel.
The force of energy the machine let out was enough to throw them back into the wall. Smoke and steam rose from every angle of the mechanical hunk. As the haze began to clear Micah's eyes widened.
"Mom?"
"Micah!" Niki screeched happily. Suddenly she was pushed over by something else climbing out of the device. The being had blonde hair and looked like…
"Mom?" Micah asked, this time more confused.
"Please," the other laughed viciously. "Call me Jessica." Just then a high heel came spiraling out of the machine and bounced off Jessica's head. Then out of the machine came…another Niki?
"Ohmigosh! This place is a wreck!"
"Niki?" Monica dared.
"Please, my name's Gina."
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" The scream caused both cousins and all forms of Niki to jump, as another blonde came running from the machine. "My hair looks horrible!"
Another blonde head stuck out of the machine, but instead of attacking or screaming she simple ducked back in.
"Get out of there Trisha," fussed one that was either hair freak or Gina.
"I don't want too!" The one hiding whined. "People might see me!"
Micah turned away—though not fast enough to miss the version of Niki that came out wearing glasses and her hair in a neat bun—and looked to Monica. "How do we turn it off?"
"I don't think we can Micah!" Monica yelled over the nose of seven of Niki's alternate personalities manifested having a cat fight. "RUN!"
They fled until the wind left their lungs and they collapsed behind an old wall.
"Well I guess one things for certain," Micah said.
"What's that?" Monica asked.
"No matter how many of them die in random improbably ways Ali Larter will never lose her contract."
