I wrote this a long time ago and then added the second paragraph, also a long time ago. After rereading, I find that I still really like it so I'm reposting it.
It was a Saturday, about midmorning. It was raining and gloomy, and the halls were empty except for an occasional student here or there, and Draco Malfoy was bored out of his mind. There was nothing to do. He avoided flying in the rain unless he had to. It messed up his hair, and then he was wet. There was no one to torment because everybody was holed up in their Common Rooms sitting by the fire. Not that tormenting people would have been that great. It was childish; but at least it was something to do. He stared out a window somewhere on the fourth floor for awhile. This particular window looked down on the Great Court, which was surrounded by hallways on all four sides and was more or less in the center of the castle. It was pretty big. Draco's eye caught a movement way down in the middle of the Court. It was a person. Are they insane? Was Draco's first thought after he saw them. He watched to see what they were doing. The person was spinning in a circle, head back, with their face to the sky. It was a girl, he realized, and she had long, sopping wet, red locks. A Weasley without a doubt. But for some reason Draco didn't feel like sneering and thinking something nasty and he just watched her dancing in the rain. He wondered how such a simple action could seem like so much fun. Twirling in the rain like that. As he watched, the Weasley girl ceased her movement and stood, letting the rain beat down on her.

Ginny Weasley looked out the window to her right and watched the rain falling against it. Suddenly, she felt entirely too confined in the stuffy Common Room full of her peers. Quietly, she stood and made her way to the portrait hole making sure not to disturb anyone or draw the attention of her brother and his friends. As soon as she made it into the hallway she began making her way toward the courtyard doors. As she pushed them open she felt the chilly, wet air rush at her face and she grinned, stepping outside. The moment she felt the heavy droplets of water splatting rapidly on her head she turned her face to the sky in order to better experience the sensation. She breathed in deeply, allowing the clean, refreshing air to fill her lungs and clear her head. Soon, she began to spin. She loved the feeling of the rain falling gently on her face and sliding down her neck while soaking into her hair and clothes. It was the most soothing experience she had yet to discover. She could practically feel all her bad thoughts being rinsed away. As Ginny reveled in the feeling of the rain on her skin she opened her eyes to view the courtyard in its muted grays and greens as it too was cleansed by the downpour. Her eyes scanned the buildings around her and her sharp eyes caught a figure standing in a window several stories up. They must think I'm crazy. As the thought flitted through her head she slowly stopped spinning and simply stood breathing deeply until her entire body was numb.
