A/N I wrote this as a head canon for a fellow admin of an HP Fan page. I don't own the Harry Potter universe, it's characters, nor am I the creator of the ever delicious RedVines.
Draco was emerging from the Forbidden Forest when he heard the dreamy voice.
"Hello Draco." He spun in a circle quickly trying to find the source of the voice. After two full spins and failing to find the voice, he was fully ready to continue on his way when a small object hit him in the head.
"One would think the Wrackspurts got you, since you can find me when I'm so close." Draco was beginning to get annoyed at this.
"Oy just who do you think you are throwing things at my head from hiding! My Father will be hearing about this!" Draco spun around once more, tripped on a root and hit his head on the ground with a solid thunk. The dreamy voice giggled at his comment. From his new view on the ground Draco found the source of the voice. Luna Lovegood was sitting in a high branch chewing slowly on some red rope-like candy. Draco narrowed his eyes at her as he rubbed the his head.
" You listen to your father too much Draco. Did it ever occur to you that he may be wrong?, " Luna queried, her eyes unusually focused. " I'm sorry you tripped because of me. Here have some candy." Luna pulled another piece of the rope like candy from her robes and tossed it to Draco. He deftly caught the sweet and gingerly took a bite.
"Hey, this isn't bad," Draco exclaimed savoring the unusual treat, " Not bad at all."
"That's good," Luna said her eyes once again unfocused, "Muggles make some of the best tasting sweets, even if they can't make you float."
"These were made by Muggles?" Draco spluttered as he picked himself up off of the ground.
"Oh yes, quite. Muggles are very good at what they do, and without magic they find the most creative ways to do things. Did you know they make their own potions, but they call it chemistry?" Luna asked as she continued to chew her candy.
"Pfft I hardly believe a Muggle could ever make a potion," Draco said skeptically.
"You can think whatever you want Draco, just remember that you were enjoying that sweet very much, right up until I told you who made it. I have to be going now. You can have the rest of these if you like." Luna hopped down from her perch, straightened her robes and handed the pack of sweets to Draco. She waved merrily at him and she skipped off towards the castle as though nothing unusual had happened.
"Made by Muggles, huh?" A stunned Draco stood there for a while longer, chewing on the sweets and wondering just how much of the dreamy-eyed girl's attitude was just an act, and if she was telling the truth about those sweets. He pulled out a fresh piece and began to chew on it, thinking that if this delicious treat was made by Muggles then maybe, just maybe, they weren't all that bad.
Always perceptive, Luna had an inkling of the events she had started off and who the blonde Slytherin was thinking about. Humming a little tune she thought to herself, "Red Vines, what the hell can't you do?"
