"Where... where am I?" Harry asked himself. He was in the middle of what seemed to be a forest. He must not have concentrated on the Burrow (where he wanted to go) and instead landed here instead. Well, the solution was simple. Harry just needed to Apparate to the Burrow now. So he tried. And failed. What? Were his Apparition powers gone? Harry tried again. Determination... Destination... it still wasn't working! Harry decided to stay in the forest until he got his Apparition powers back. He would need to create some kind of shelter. Harry had accidentally left his wand at his house, so he gathered some sticks and leaves by hand. After an hour of collecting, Harry built a teepee-shaped structure out of them. It seemed late, so Harry slid under the structure and tried to go to sleep. It was cold at night, so Harry tried to think of a way to get back to the Burrow, or at least to contact Ron, before he could fall asleep. Harry was supposed to be staying with all the Weasleys for a week. What would Ron think? Harry had been looking forward to seeing Ron, George, Percy, Charlie, and Bill again (Ginny was pregnant so she couldn't travel with Harry and had to stay home). Now he was afraid that Ron would think he had forgotten them. After much thinking, with no ideas, Harry finally fell asleep.

When he woke up in the morning, he was hungry. The forest seemed deserted, though, so there was nothing to kill and eat. What about berries? Maybe there were edible berries around. Harry glanced around the forest. Aha! There were some berries on a nearby bush. Harry inspected them. They didn't look edible... Harry wasn't going to take any chances with these. They were blue! That didn't seem normal or safe.

Harry looked around more. There were more blue berries, but Harry left those there. That seemed to be the only kind of berry around. So Harry disappointedly looked down on the ground, hungry. He watched as a green caterpillar walked slowly into a log. What if he ate that caterpillar? Harry had heard of people eating caterpillars to survive. So he carefully reached into the log and pulled out the caterpillar. Before his mind had time to protest, Harry dropped the caterpillar into his mouth. Harry didn't know whether to chew it or to swallow it whole. He accidentally took too much time thinking about it, and felt the caterpillar walking on his tongue. Eew! He moved it to the back of his mouth and clamped his teeth tightly on it. He quickly swallowed it, wishing he had a drink to wash it down with.

Then, all of a sudden, Harry heard a noise. It sounded like someone was whistling. The sound came closer and closer. Finally, a face appeared. It was... Ron!

"Harry? Is that you?" asked Ron.

"Yeah! How did you find me?"

"Well, I was just about to go looking for blueberries. The Burrow is only about thirty yards away from here."

"WHAT? I was thirty yards away all this time? I ate a caterpillar and slept in a leafy teepee when I was just thirty yards away?"

"Yeah, wow! Why didn't you Apparate?"

"Because I couldn't! I tried!"

"Oh yeah! We have anti-Apparition spells on the Burrow! Still, you could have shouted. The Extendable Ears outside the house would have heard," said Ron.

"Oh," said Harry. "I'm more stupid than I thought."

Ron laughed. The two walked towards the Burrow; the whole while, Ron made fun of Harry for eating a caterpillar.
