Kira. That is the most common reason for the riots. The man who became a god. Who gave hope to everyone tired of politics. He was the one whom knew what to do with the power bestowed upon him. He was globally accepted. He brought peace to the world. Then, one day we received news from the CIA. Kira was no more. Riots broke out, people burning homes and murdering all non-believers began a daily thing. The police force would end up using violent force. I was the one forced to issue such order. I am a Keishisei meaning I have to be the one issuing orders. It took me years to receive this position and rather than feeling pride in my achievement I feel all the more hatred for this. I spend most of my time writing reports, issuing orders, listening to those above me and simply sitting at a desk. I used to be able to see justice inflicted. Now it is simply buried beneath the bureaucrats who deem death sentence something savage. As a high-ranking officer I may not speak up against them. No one can. The prisoners receive eatable food and clean water every day and the ones paying for it are the civilians. Kira changed that. With my high rank I was able to contact the detective who calls himself "Near". He explained in no great detail of Fake "Ls" and how it is all classified. In the end he mentioned the death of Kira and spoke of keeping this a secret for as long as possible.
Riots broke out suddenly with several fires downtown. Soon the fires began spreading and people began joining in the riot smashing down shop glass and taking anything they may. Their shouts consisted of worshipping Kira and the opposition to his death. It was hopeless though. I began investigating the identity of Kira and his talent for what he had done. I instantly took to the idea of a male being Kira and for some reason the hunch I normally received got me stuck to that idea. In the recent happening there have been hundreds of murders. There were two, which caught my attention. Yagami family had lost two members. Light, who was a most skilled detective and according to police files worked with "L" and a second Yagami. A chief of police. He had been caught in an explosion of a secret breach of which the objective has been unknown. Several days before his daughter had disappeared which gave the clear goal as the daughter was found back at home the day after the breach. I have also found a strange anomaly in the recent murders. Two days after Light of the Yagami family had died "Near" confirmed Kira's death to me. Day after that it had gone public. That meant everyone knew Kira was dead. There were two Kiras though. We knew that through the message communication they had used. On the same day there had been another man dead, Teru Mikami. It may have been him. The final subject that remained to me had been Light's fiancée called Misa. She was the top of all adverts, posters, and fashion. An individual such as Light would have been expected to find an intellectual equal as his partner and not an imbecile such as her. Yet she dearly loved Light as can be seen by the simple fact that she was in deep mourning of Light yet she did not seem to know anything to do with his death or whether he was linked to kira. I began to realize that truly Kira was dead and the only way to find the truth was to break some rules. I felt the challenge engulf me; the adrenaline rush and I knew there and then that "Near" must have been responsible. Taking an oath to find the truth I realized I would receive high risk of losing my job. I had no family and no one had been suited to this task as I. The legacy of Kira was to be continued.
