With eyes like fire,
he watches
His sister's silence,
His friends' care for him
The results of his mistakes
Right now,
as he holds his
unconscious sister
on the riverbank,
he realizes who
he loves

The morning sun
rises and
its rays dance
on the pale blue
water.
He misses his best friend
He misses his baby sister
He misses...
everything.
The hiss
of the wind in the summer.
The rainbow
that came after
every hurricane.
He misses life before
everything got so
complicated.
So as Sid asks,
"Tony, you okay?"
He wants to say,
"No, I'm not."
But he lies.
"I'm fine."
And he hopes the last
glimmer of pain disappears.
His past is an ocean.
When he thinks it goes away,
it crashes down and haunts him
again and again and again.
He tries to swim away,
but he encounters another
memory.
So he will
never swim again.
And with eyes like fire,
he will watch.
