This is like a Romeo and Juliet version. (sort of.)
Disclaimer: I do not own Beauty and the Beast, and the first part of this is based on the movie.
A/N: this is an edited version according to the suggestions of TrudiRose. Thanks!!"NO! Please! I'll do anything!" Gaston begged as the beast held him over the edge of the tower.
Something softened in the beast as this pathetic creature begged for his life. He set him down, drew him close and snarled, "Get Out!" Then, leaving the man to catch his breath, he turned toward the only thing that really mattered- Belle.
"Beast!" she cried, stretching out her hand.
"Belle!" and then he said the words that he had never said before. "I love you!"
Belle sat stunned as he began to climb the tower. And all of a sudden she knew what she had to say.
"I love you too."
The beast smiled but as he was about to make it over the railing, he was lifted up into the air. As Belle watched with a mixture of fear and awe, he slowly began to transform. His body shrank as the hair receded. And then, there, where the beast had been only seconds before, floated a handsome prince. The wind gently settled him on the tower. The beast look at his hands, then down at his legs. He gave Belle a smile full of love, wonder, and amazement. And then he began his ascent towards her. She stretched out her hand, and he took it, but just for a moment.
"AHHHH!" he let out a roar of pain as Gaston, driven by madness, drove a knife through his back. Belle watched the scene with horror. She caught him before he plunged off the tower, but she could do nothing to help Gaston, who fell to his death.
"No!" Belle pulled the prince over the rail, and laid him on the floor.
All around her the castle and its inhabitants were transforming into beauties, but Belle saw only her love and his suffering. He can't leave me! Not now! Not when this should be the hapiest moment of our lives! She wathced with desperate helplessness as he lay there, struggling with his pain.
"No! You can't leave me! Not when we're just beginning."
The newly transformed prince struggled to keep his eyes focused. His breathing was shallow, and getting harder to do.
"I…Love…You," he said weakly, and his hand, which had been reaching for Belle, fell to the ground.
"NO!" Belle wept over him, but this time no magic came to rescue him. No love could save him this time, and none of Belle's many tears would bring him back. They had had just that short moment of freedom, but it would last forever.
Read and Review PLEASE!!! even if you thought it stunk!
A/N: I hope this is what you had in mind. I know that I like this one better.
