Changes, Part 2
I forgot to mention it last time, but I do not or do not claim to own Degrassi.
Authors Note:This takes place right after "U got the look."

"She is going to live here." He repeated calmly, as if it was something he said every day.
"With us?" I said mindlessly, like it wasn't obvious.
"Yes, Manuela." Mom responded, sounding a little annoyed.
I just stared at them, waiting for an explanation. There was long, uncomfortable silence before my father started to speak
"She's my niece, and my goddaughter. "
"I had an uncle, and you didn't even tell me?" I said, my voice rising
"They lived in the States; I didn't think it was necessary." He shot back harshly, but I could hear the trace of guilt weaved into his voice.
"Necessary!" At this point I was full out screaming.
"Manuela! Do not use that tone of voice with me, you are overreacting!"
Cassie was fidgeting uncomfortably "Uh…I could leave if you want…"
I glared at her "Please do!"
"Manuela Alexandra Santos! You-"
"Who's the chick?"
Everything went quiet as Alejandro swaggered in with that cocky, smug grin and winked at Cassie. I couldn't help but role my eyes, despite the circumstance "Your cousin, doofus ." I sneered.
"Very funny, little girl, but I'm not that stupid.
"Don't overestimate yourself."
"Oh, shut up Shorty nobody wants to hear your lies."
I was opening my mouth to tell him exactly what I thought about his hearing skills, when Mom took over.
"Alejandro, please sit down. We have something important to discuss."
He sat down putting his feet up on his table like a king, but thought better of it after a severe glare from my mom.
"This is your god-sister, and she is going to be moving in with us…"
He looked as shocked as I felt, and for the first time I can remember we were actually on the same side.
"I have a god sister?" He asked, but it sounded less like a question and more like a dark confirmation of what my mother had just said.
"Yes."
He gave me a-what's-going-on look, and I just shrugged and mouthed "Don't ask me".
"Where, there are no extra bedrooms."
"She will be sharing it with Manuela"
Now I saw where this was going, and our brief sense of unity was gone.
"Why me? He has the bigger room. Besides he's going to be moving out next year anyway!"
My father didn't seem to agree with me.
"I don't think it is appropriate for her to be sharing a room with him."
"That's not fair!"
"He will still come home on weekends and breaks."
"So? I'm here on weekends, breaks, and weekdays, in case you hadn't noticed!"
"It's not up for discussion. This is my house, my rules."
