Hey, ya'll! So here is my first Kingdom Hearts fic for FanFiction. Wrote this as a story for English, which was well accepted.

LUNAR FLAMES

The black-coated man known as Axel walked inconspicuously through the depths of the Dark City, hood pulled up to hide his face from the beings under his command. Formally under his command to put it precisely. Not so very long ago, Axel was part of an enigmatic group, a creed, that tore the world from the inside out through missions of reconnaissance, bribery, and other methods deemed adverse.

The thin man was a valuable part of the Organization until he recently started to have thoughts; thoughts of doubting his purpose in the Organization and ideas of desertion. Axel soon left the group without announcing to his fellow members of the departure, obviously because it wasn't a wise act to advocate. The punishment was death or worse.

Axel soon walked into a cleared roadway similar to a cul-de-sac, but with two roads splitting off from the massive tower, Memory Skyscraper, into a fork. It was deserted, and it started to rain. The light rain pecked at Axel's black coat as he drew closer to Memory Skyscraper. The thin man looked up at the great tower's massive screen at its peak. It was designed to project the memories of those who passed by the structure.

Axel watched the screen as it projected his memories, back when he was a teenager. He found the technology somewhat aesthetic to be able to commence this unveiling of one's past, but considered it an affront unto him. He couldn't truly feel emotion, which would have pained Axel had he the capability.

His recollections were interrupted by a set of footsteps that grew louder and closer. Axel shifted his gaze toward one of the branching roads, where a similarly coated man casually made his way towards the other. The figure stopped a meter from Axel in the center of the asphalt clearing. When he spoke, his voice was familiar; it was deep, emotionless, and affluent in authority.

"You shouldn't have come back, Axel."

Axel replied casually, "Hey hey, Saïx! How's your job?"

Saïx replied coldly, "Don't use your affable attitude with me." He aimed a finger at Axel. "You betrayed the Organization. They're hunting you down." The man stared at Axel with gold eyes that revealed nothing but a cold, empty soul. Saïx summoned his claymore from hammerspace and wielded the bladed tool in a reverse grip. "Unfortunately the Superior sent me to eliminate you."

Axel summoned his chakrams in a similar manner. "Come on. You want to kill me, even when you still want to take over the Organization?" he questioned. Saïx and Axel were best friends before becoming members of the enigmatic cult. But ever since then, the former became a colder efficient operative and gradually lost his sense of former self. Even then, they had plans to take over the Organization.

Saïx spoke, again in his monotone manner of speech. "Those are now just idle fantasies, Axel. All that's left for me is to aggrandize the Organization." He snapped his fingers and the shadows around Axel and Saïx became animate. The creatures, Neoshadows, stalked and aggregated into a circle around the duo. "And your assassination will be its first step."

Axel faced flexed from a face of cocky glee into a mask of frustration. The man before him, formally his friend, formally the one who spawned comforting affinity in thick in thin, the duo formally known as Їsa and Lea, had drawn to a close. Axel leapt. Saïx followed suit, as did the Neoshadows. A duel between friends and a circus of aerial acrobatics had begun.
